Chapter 3

I woke up, but it wasn't morning yet. I looked over at my clock and it was only 3:30 AM. I eased my way out of bed, careful not to way up Hayden, to use the bathroom and get a drink of water. When I got to the kitchen I notied a note on the table.

Evelyn
It's about 11:00PM and I am watching you sleep. I am now reminded of why I fell in love with you. You are the most amazing person. It is going to take me a while to get over the fact that you ran away and hid your pregnancy from me. Eventually I will, though. I still can't believe that we are going to have two little babies. My parents are going to freak out, but they will be excited. I just wanted to tell you that I still love you, and that I never stopped loving you.
     Hayden

I couldn't believe it. I could, but Hayden never ceased to amaze me. When we were going out before, he always wrote me little notes telling me how much he loved me. Not because he couldn't tell me himself, but because he would leave them where he knew I would find them. In my car, on the pillow beside me when he had to leave before I would wake up. All over the place. It was really sweet and I always love getting them.

I got my drink and went to the bathroom. When I got back into bed Hayden woke up.

"Hey, I didn't mean to wake you up. I'm sorry." I said as I laid in a comfortable position. He turned towards me and smiled.

"Don't worry about it. You alright? You look like you were crying." He said as he inter-twind our fingers undrneath the covers.

"Yea, I just read your note and it reminded me of when you used to leave me notes all the time. It was really sweet. Thank you." I said as I moved closer to him, but not being able to get that close due to my large belly.

"I hoped you would like it. When is your due date?" He asked rubbing my stomach gently.

"In about 2 weeks. Actually 2 weeks from tomorrow. I can't wait. I do love being pregnant, though, I love feeling them grow inside of me. And when they move it is a wondeful feeling. But I really want to hold them." I said as I started to drift in and out of sleep. Hayden leaned foward and gently kissed my lips and we soon fell asleep.

The next day after breakfast we decided to go shopping for some more things for the babies and pick up Hayden's things from his hotel. I had to help Hayden look less obvious so he wore a hooded sweatshirt, baggy jeans, sun glasses and a bucket hat. He looked so cute trying not to look like himself.

"There, I can hardly recognize you." I said with sarcasm in my voice.

"I'm sure you can. I just hope no one else will." He said as we walked out the door and got into my car.

"Just don't smile much. Your smile is a dead give away."

As I pulled out of the drive way we decided we would go shopping first, my idea, and then run and get his stuff and once we got back to my house Hayden was going to call his parents and tell them about me and the babies. I knew he was nervous, but his parents were great people and I've known them since I was little. Hayden assured me then wouldn't be anything less than extatic.
