| We went into every baby store in the mall. I refused to let Hayden pay for everything. I had picked up and cashed my check on the way to the mall and I had a lot more money than nomal because I had been doing major over time. I told him that at most he could pay for only half, and that he was pushing it on that. We didn't need anything big because I already had the basic things. We were just looking for toys, clothes, and little things like that. "Aww, this is so cute!" I said holding up two pairs of little over-alls. One with a pink shirt under it that said 'Daddy's little girl' all over it and the other had a blue shirt that said 'Mama's boy' all over it. "Please tell me that all their clothes aren't matching. That is so clichet!" He whinned as he put his arms around me trying to get the clothes from behind my back. "No, just 3/4 of them." I said as I quickly kissed him. "You can't tell me you don't like these. They are so precious." He finally got a hold of the clothes and instead of putting them back on the rack he laid them in the cart. "No more matching." He said smiling. That smile that millions of girls drool over, could be very persuasive. "No smiling. Or those two girls over there are going to run over and rip of your shirt and try to have their way with you, and I am afraid I will have to let them. Because being in my state of condition I can't beat two hormonal teenagers off of you." I said rather loudly. "Ohh, your going to play like that, ok, fine. Watch this." He winked at me, handed me his glasses and hat and walked over to the girls, who had over heard what I said. When they saw Hayden walking towards them, they were so shell-shocked they looked terrified. I could hear everything Hayden said to them. "Hello, um, I'm not to sure if you know who I am...." He started but one of the girls stopped him. "We know, we know. Your Hayden Christensen. OMG I love you." She said jumping up and down. Hayden turned back towards me and gave me a look like 'you've got to be kidding me' "Well me and my girlfriend need your help with something. Come with me." He said as he purposly grabbed each girls hand and started to walk back over to where I was standing, Quite blow away by his boldness. Both of the girls looked like they would die if Hayden let go of their hands. When they walked over to where I was they looked passed me for someone else, but realizing he meant me they looked straight down at my stomach. "This is your girlfriend?" One of the girls with short auburn hair asked in a voice just above a whisper. "Yea, and we are having trouble picking out clothes for our babies," He put emphacise on 'our', making sure he got the point across. "See I think it is kind of silly to get matching clothes for twins, but Evelyn thinks that it is cute. What do you think?" He asked them. They both looked at each other before replying. "Well...ummm....I think they're cute, what do you think Alyssa?" She asked the other girl. "I don't like the whole matching thing it's so over-rated." She said as she glared at me. I could tell she was pissed that I was with him, let alone his pregnant girlfriend. She would be the one to side with Hayden and try to make me feel bad. Hayden noticed her snobby attitude and hostility for me and he protectivly put his arm around my waist hugging me closer to him. So I just smiled at the girls and thanked them. After all I'm the one he's with. Why should I care what they think. Hayden thanked them as well and he even took a couple pictures with them. The one girl, the nicer girl asked me to be in one as well. I said sure and after saying goodbye they walked away, but never got far enough so they couldn't hear what we said. The whole time we were there they walked about ten feet behind us. It was hilarious to see how stupid they looked. "God do they ever give up?" I asked as I whispered in his ear as we walked through the mall. We really wanted to make them mad so we would either be holding hands or Hayden would have his arms around me. We never lost contact with each other. "I doubt it. Are they bothering you? I can tell them to leave or we can leave and go some place else." He said slowing down. "No it is fine. As long as no one else finds out and follows us." Hayden and I both looked behind us and as soon as the girls saw us looking at them they both went into another store. "Ohh, here is another baby store. Last one I promise." So we went in and looked around. Hayden found an adorable precious moments fleece blanket, and some cute toys. "Do you like this?" Hayden said as he draped the outfit over my stomach. "I really don't think I could fit in it, but I think it would look cute on Maddy." I said as he kissed me on the cheek. So we finished up and bought the items we liked and headed out towards the car. After getting his things from the hotel and going home, Hayden was going to call his parents. I wanted to give him some privacy so I went into the nursery and put away all the clothes and set up the toys and blankets and other little things we bought. These babies were going to be a big change in our life, but I knew we could handle it. |
