| ~~~~~With Natalie and Hayden (Hayden's POV)~~~~~ "Hayden.....Hayden!!" I heard someone yelling. If felt like I was in between two plaes at once. I looked up and Natalie was standing infront of me with her hands on her hips with a very aggrivated look on her face. I knew she was mad about the way I acted but I couldn't help it. How exactly would she feel if she found out that one of her babies could be in serious trouble. "What do you expect me to do." I asked as I put my head in my hands. I couldn't take all of this. "Hayden, I expect you to get your ass together and get over to that hospital and be there for Evelyn." She said. I could hear the frustration in her voice. "I know, and I want to, but I don't know what to do. What if something happens? I don't know if I can handle it and I can't break down in front of her. I have to be strong for her. She is depending on me. What if something happens?" I said as I stood up in a panic all over again. "But what if nothing happens and she has those babies without you. You need to be by her side and helping her. She IS depending on you. She needs you." Natalie said. Then it hit me. I was acting like a complete jerk and being totally selfish. Evelyn just got the same news as I did and she knew what she had to do. The only thing I can do is help her. She has to be the one to bring these babies into this world. How could I have acted thike this. By now tears were again freely flowing down my face. I'm not really one to cry, but I really didn't care right now. "Oh my God, what have I done?" I said. Natalie pulled me into a hug which I willingly accepted. It immediatly calmed me down a bit. It's funny because Evelyn is going to be counting on me to help her through this. But I'll be counting on Natalie to keep me strong. Natalie was the only other girl in my life that I had ever truly love. It was a love that you could only have with someone like Natalie. There were no feelings for one another. It was a love that, just like my love for Evelyn, but differently, you could only get once in a lifetime. "Come on. Lets get what she'll need and get to the hospital. You're going to be a daddy!" She said as she smiled and pulled away from me to get everything together. With in 5 minutes we had packed a bag, told George what was going on and were on our way to the hospital. Natalie had to drive because I was shaking so bad . The whole way to the hospital I kept thinking about what Natalie had said. I WAS going to be a daddy soon. In the matter a few hours. Once we got to the hospital we found the maternity floor and went to the front desk and got the number for Evelyn's room. When we both turned around to head to the room I saw Ewan walking out of the elevator. He still had on his costume. When I went to go to him he held up his hands. "I'll be here when you're done. Go! And tell Evelyn we are all waiting for those babies to get here." He said in his thick unique accent. So we did as we were told and went to the room. I took a deep breath and Natalie squeezed my hand as I opened the door. My breath, though, caught in my throat when I saw Evelyn. She was hooked up to all kinds of monitors and she was sitting up with a painful look on her face. "You might want to call for a doctor." She said as she started to breath irratically clutching her stomach, with tears rapidly falling down her cheeks. |
