"I'm sorry Robin, she gets like this. Immature I know." Sam saw April's gob smacked expression as she stood up and slammed her hand on the table, "Excuse me? Well news flash for you. I've been vegetarian since mum left. Okay? Screw this, I'm going home." She grabbed her leather jacket and headed for the door. "April?" Sam stood up aswell, "I'm not keen on chicken either so do you want to go for pizza? Vegetarian pizza's my favourite." April frowned, "Yeah whatever just get me out of here rich boy." Sam glimpsed at his mum and gave her `the look'. He grabbed his keys and left the table, "It was nice meeting you John and we'll have to do this again soon." John nodded, "Sorry about her." Sam shook his head, "No problem" Sam led April to his black jeep. He opened the passenger door and let her climb in. As he started up the car she turned to him, "You know you can just drop me off at my friend's house on the way to the Pizza place. She's having a party so I'll be fine there." Sam laughed, "Why would I drop you there? I told you I was taking you out for pizza and that's what I'm doing." April's eyes widened, "What… what are you talking about?" Sam shrugged, "I told your dad I was taking you for pizza so…" April shuffled, "Stop here. I'm getting out." Sam didn't stop, "Sam her house is there! Come on…" She slumped back in her chair, "Sam let me out or I'll tell my dad you tried to rape me." Sam hit the brakes sending her crashing forward and smacking her head on the wind screen. "Ouch you jerk!" "What is your problem? I have tried to be nice to you and you respond like this! You know what… forget it. I'm going home and you're coming with me. I don't care if you starve." April licked her purple lips and reached for her bag. She pulled out her mini disk player and punched the plugs in her ears. Sam sighed, he was never like that. He was never that bad. Was he? April put the player back in her bag as they pulled into the drive; she leapt out of the car and began sprinting before he even undid his belt. Sam practically fell out of the car following her. He started after her, chasing her. Luckily she was wearing high heeled boots and he was wearing trainers. He caught her in no time. He grabbed her shoulder; she turned and slapped his face. "Get away from me Sam. I swear I will beat the crap out of you if you try to stop me." Sam steadied her by holding her shoulders, "April, what's wrong with you? What happened to make you like this? I don't know you but in a way I do…" April shook her head, "Are you on something? You're sure as hell not making any sense to me." Sam ran a hand through his hair, "April. After my parents split up I started using. I was a bastard to be around. My mom ended up hating me. That's my reason, what's yours?" April's lips twitched, "It's none of your business." She wriggled her arms free, "Now get lost." The rain had started to patter on her face, Sam couldn't tell if she was crying or if it was the droplets of water. He grabbed her wrist and spun locking her in an arm lock. She winced and yelped in pain. "Sorry I know this place too well to get lost but you don't and you will get lost so I'm escorting you home." April sneered, "Oh, you're my hero." Sam shifted April into a head lock when they reached the front door. Her arms beat against his sides as he fiddled with the keys. He released her the moment the door opened. Robin and John were snuggled on the sofa, Robin looked up, "How was the pizza?" Sam folded his arms and stared at April, "Fine," she huffed, "I'm soaked. Can we go home now?" John stood up and placed his arm around Robin, "Okay April, but first we have some news. Uh, Robin and I… we uh…" Robin grinned, "Sam we're moving in together." She hugged John. Sam and April glared at each other. |
