RECENT NEWS
Congrats to Kyleigh Klaasen on her new Thoroughbred gelding, Prix! He's a 15.3 hh dark bay and sounds great. But we will all miss Cinnamon, her Welsh/QH/Connemara pony who was recently sold.
Ryanne Oetman and her horse, Sonny, placed 6th out of about 40 people at the Junior Rolex at the Kentucky Horse Park. The national competition consisted over 200 people, including some Canadians, who were then broken down into four divisions. Jeannie Dunn and her horse, Buddy, placed 12th in their division. WAY TO GO!
Congrats to the USET on their performances in Sydney for the 2000 Olympics. They placed Bronze for the eventing Team medal and David O'Connor won the eventing Individual Gold medal.
Rolex is coming up! If you don't know already, it will be taking place April 26th thru the 29th. This is always a thrilling event!! It is taking place at the Lexington Horse Park in Kentucky. Click here to learn more about it and how to purchase tickets.
I was in my first competition of the season on April 14th at Willow Ridge Farm!! It was a combined test, meaning an event w/o the xcountry :(. I placed 7th out of 20 riders, just barely missing a ribbon (don't you hate it when that happens??). I had a 60% on my dressage test and did bad on my jumping--I had a refusal and a knockdown!! At least I didn't get eliminated, like a lot of competitors. Kelly Smith placed 5th in her division, and Ryanne Oetman was probably about 10th. Good job guys!!
I am going to be leasing Shinto, a 17 hh Thoroughbred gelding, for the show season! My younger friend Elena Schruer will be leasing my pony, Sassy, for her Pony Club rally. I have unfortunately outgrown my Sassy and will have to sell her soon. But in the meantime I can ride Shinto. He is HUGE but also quiet and a sweetie!! I am aiming toward Beginner Novice Rider Of The Year, but I don't know how I'll do... Wish me luck!
Cosette will be leaving at the end of April, unless she is sold. There have been some inquiries on her but none have gone thru. Currently a young girl is looking at her to buy, so that could prolong her stay at Open Ridge. We all hope she stays at least another month!!
