Cartoon Network
When the cartoon character Johnny Bravo hosted Cartoon Network live for a week, the channel wanted to tell as many people as possible.
Banner ads littered the internet.
They lead to a behind-the-scenes microsite for the show. Here you can read Johnny's mail, try on his outfits, sign for fans and just chill out on stage.
Cartoon Network also commissioned a WAP mobile phone service that allowed people to download a cartoon character, such as Fred Flintstone or the PowerPuff Girls onto their phone. Every day they'd have to play and train their character, and build up their scores so that they could fight each other's character and grow their world on their mobile phone. This proved very popular in both the playground and in the office meeting rooms.
