Here are the different teams you can join in our program, along with the name of the commander of the team. Click on a team to get more in-depth information on it.

Armed Drill Team: The armed drill team uses the unit's M1 Garand rifles in both basic and exhibition drill. This team is a very demanding and difficult team to be on. It requires a certain degree of strength and discipline to use, spin and throw the 9.5 lb rifles. This past year our armed drill team went to Regionals and placed 5th overall (2nd in the exhibition phase). It is a Varsity sport so you can letter in it.
Team Commander: C/ENS Kevin Schireman

Academic Team: If you're good at academics then this is a good team for you. It requires 3rd and 4th year cadets because of the difficulty of the nationwide test which is taken to determine the placement among over 200 other NJROTC units across the country. You can letter is this team as well.
Team Commander: C/ENS Heath Mushitz

Color Guard: This is the team that presents the American Flag at sporting events, and represents the unit at competitions. It consists of four people marching in a tight formation, the two in the middle hold the American and Unit flag, while the two on the outside carry rifles. This is also considered a Varsity sport so you may letter in it. Last year one of our color guards did well enough to qualify for Regionals.

Orienteering Team: Orienteering is a fun sport, you navigate your way through a forest to find markers and make it to the finish line. The faster you make it to the finish line the more points you get. You can letter in this sport.
Team Commander: C/ENS Kevin Schireman

PT Team: On the PT (Physical Training) team you work out and do push ups, sit-ups, and a 1.5 mile run, in competition against other units. The team also regularly plays basketball and/or other sports to stay in shape.

Rifle Team: In the rifle team you shoot pellet guns at targets for accuracy. You gets points and complete with other rifle teams. You can letter in this team too. Our rifle team also qualified for Regionals last year.
Team Commander: C/ENS Jon Roe

Unarmed Drill Team: This drill team uses no weapons, so they must focus primarily on a high level of precision. They do both basic and exhibition drill. Unarmed drill in this region is extremely competitive, so the team must work very hard to place in competitions!
