"THE
ARK OF HAON" Sanctuary Of Reasons The
sun began to come up in the early morning on the horizon in the Gulf of
Thailand and Mandy awakened to the rocking of the Dragon Mandy
silently hurried out of her cage and managed to find her way up to the deck, she
opened the door to see pirates asleep and snoring everywhere, laying amongst
empty liquor bottles and trash from their late night party. She tiptoed through the unconscious crew towards the stern
of the boat being very careful not to awaken anyone. But as she inched closer
to freedom a rum bottle rolled down the swaying deck disturbing some seagulls
eating garbage and “Stop her!” Immediately
the hung over crew rose to their feet chasing her as she ran and jumped on
the stern railing and stood on the end of the ship screaming in defiance. “You
all can rot in hell you filthy freaks! “Stay don’t jump we can help you my sexy sister,” said the one-eared pirate, “you don’t want to go in these waters, there are a lot of hungry sharks this close to the mainland. I promise we won’t harm you, we can make you one of us, the Captain decided last night that we should keep you.” “Eat
shit you sons
of a bitches,” Mandy exclaimed, “go to hell!” She
jumped off of the railing headed to the sea below and a pirate hiding off on
the side threw a grappling hook catching and ripping through her shoulder.
She dangled from the hook screaming in pain. “Good throw, good throw Barracuda,” a pirate shouted, “and now reel her in!” They
proceeded to pull her up on to the boat screaming and bleeding profusely. Then
suddenly the hook tore out of her shoulder, she hit her head on the side of
the ship and fell unconscious into the deep sea and disappeared. Tomga
very unsatisfied about the escape stood on the upper control tower tier shaking
his head looking very angry, while Caviperous stood silently next to him. “Someone get Barnacle up here immediately!” Barnacle
soon showed up explaining, “Tomga, Tomga, I don’t know how she got out, look I
have the only keys right here in my pocket to the two locks on her cell, only
Houdini could have gotten out of there!” “Oh, so I guess now we had a Houdini act on board,” Tomga exclaimed, “maybe we should start running a magic show? You don’t have to worry Barnacle, I not going to send you to the dragons.” “Thank
you, thank you Tomga,” the frightened guard begged; “I knew you would see it
right.” “Yes
I see it right, because now your going to the “No, no, please no Tomga!” cried Barnacle, as four pirates punched, pummeled and kicked him down the stairs to the dungeons of death. Thirty
minutes later the Dragon was cruising six miles off the coastline of
Thailand, with the Reaper tailing a mile behind and suddenly the horn sounded
on the Dragon. “What
is it now?” yelled Tomga. “There’s
a forty foot cigar boat a half mile out front,” answered the lookout, “it’s
crossing our path and heading straight to the mainland on full speed, it
appears to have two people on board.” “Drop some Hornets!” said Tomga, through the ships speakers. Three
high-powered J “Who’s
on board?” Tomga asked on the radio. “Your
not going to believe this,” exclaimed a marauder on the patrol boat, “it’s
that girl who disappeared over the side and some guy driving!” “That’s
impossible,” replied Tomga, “their boat is coming from the opposite direction.
That girl can’t be on that boat, she drowned and disappeared five miles
back.” Mandy
awoke in surprise on the back of the custom painted speeding boat with the
sounds of gunfire and not remembering very much. “Where
am I?” she shouted, to the driver over the loud boat engines and an old
Jimmie Hendrix song blasting away on the stereo, “what is happening?” The
long hair driver in tattered clothes just stared ahead silently while the “Excuse
me, what are you deaf?” yelled Mandy, “what am I doing here?” “There’s no time for that now,” the mysterious driver replied, “don’t be afraid just hold on.” The
racing,
fleeing yellow boat
with flames painted on its sides immediately on the spot turned one
hundred and eighty degrees, narrowly missing rocket propelled grenades
launched by one of the “Hit
them Leech!” a pirate on the attacking gunboat screamed, “you keep missing!” “I don’t know why,” yelled the questioning gunner, “this gun was targeted yesterday and could hit a coconut tree at two hundred yards?” Sitting
in shock Mandy watched as they headed full speed into a large crooked bay
with cannon rounds whizzing by, exploding in the water barely missing by
inches. They raced down into a long narrow cove becoming briefly out of sight
of the attackers, still speeding and heading straight into a dead end. A
jagged rocky shore with jungle and scattered coconut trees all around. “Stop! Stop, your going to kill us!” She closed her eyes in fear and heard the sound of a loud whoosh. The boat came to a crawl and she opened her eyes in disbelief to see that they were now in the mouth of a beautiful narrow river, no more than forty feet wide with beautiful foliage, fruit trees and birds all around. The
mysterious driver put the boat in neutral, stood up, turned around with a
little smile and lit a hand rolled cigarette. “Welcome aboard the Mirage, my name is Haon, I hope I didn’t scare you? There was a lot to think about back there a few minutes ago.” There he stood, looking like a old rock star out of the nineteen eighties, a tall attractive muscular suntanned man in his late forties with long dirty blond hair streaked with gray, a few dreadlocks, a light beard and wearing round dark sunglasses and ripped up camouflage army pants. He had a silver ring hanging from his ear, a beautiful necklace made of seashells and gems around his neck and a few strange tattoos on his shoulders. Mandy
just sat there in silence for a moment staring at him for she never came upon
a man so handsome and radiant. “My name is Mandy,” she meekly pointed back behind herself, “but how, why didn’t we crash into the shore?” “That’s
a holographic image I created out of some old projectors, electronics and
camera equipment I ran across on a abandoned beached yacht,” answered Haon,
“it protects the location of our “How did I get here, all I can remember is that I was held prisoner by those psychopaths, who murdered and tortured my family and then I fell into the ocean?” Mandy
suddenly recalled what actually took place in her mind and looked immediately
at her shoulder. “Oh
my God! What is going on here, my shoulder was torn out. I remember the pain
and blood, but now there’s nothing wrong with it?” “Feel the lump on your forehead you must have hit your head,” replied Haon, “sometimes the mind can play little tricks on us.” “Don’t
tell me it is all in my head,” Mandy angrily answered, “look my shirts ripped
right where that hook caught me!” “All
I know is that I pulled you from the water and you had no wounds, we’re both
lucky to still be alive, those people back there are insane.” “If
you pulled me from the water,” asked Mandy, “how come I’m not even wet and
the back of this boat isn’t even wet “Things
dry very quickly when the temperature is one hundred and twenty, I just don’t
have a answer for you, but I do have to say there have been some very strange
occurrences happening around here the last couple of days. Maybe you should
just accept what is now. There are some questions that there are “What
is it?” Mandy asked, reaching for the bottle. “Homemade
pineapple coconut wine.” Mandy
quickly grabbed the bottle and chugged half of it down. “You
really should go slow with that,” said Haon, “it’s very strong and besides
save some for me.” Haon
grabbed the bottle back and took a big swig, went up front, put the boat in
drive and continued very slowly up Mandy
on the back suddenly busted into tears holding her face crying. “My
family, my family, you don’t know what those bastards did to my family.” “I
know what the people here on this world are capable of,” Haon said,
regretfully, “my heart is with you, I am so sorry. You really need to get a
hold of yourself. Don’t make yourself suffer anymore over things that couldn’t
be changed, everyday is a new day and there are plenty of lessons Meanwhile
back on the Dragon with the Reaper anchored near by, Tomga and Caviperous
waited on deck as the patrol boat crew arrived. “Well what’s the story Crab Face,” questioned Tomga, “did you get those pigs? You know that boat would be a big plus to our crusade, it looked like a very fast and beautiful vessel. I hope you boys didn’t sink it?” “We didn’t sink it Tomga, Leech couldn’t hit it, there must be something wrong with the gun? Then the goddamn boat disappeared up some long crooked dead end cove and we couldn’t get in any closer, everything got too narrow. I swear Tomga the fucking thing just vanished like a ghost and the crazy part about it was that little whore who got away was on board. Shit is starting to really go crazy around here. It’s probably due to your Caviperous. Some of the men are starting to become agitated and fearful of her being around.” “How
dare you blame this on my future Q “Where
is your brother Tomga,” asked the curious Caviperous, “he should have gotten
back by now? Where are the Hornets Crab Face?” “Caviperous
they are all dead, that cigar boat killed them.” Crab Face started shaking and looked very scared, then Leech brought a heavy package rapped up in tarp upstairs and dropped it on the floor smiling. “My
brother, oh no not Slasher! My dear brother is dead,” cried Tomga, holding
his hands to his face, “when I get that man and that girl I’m going to kill
them both myself,
very, very slowly! What is this, “It’s the top half of Slasher,” answered Leech, pacing around proudly, “he was cut in half by that boat, his life jacket kept him afloat. We thought that you would want him back here to be with you.” “You idiot assholes, I can’t believe you would bring half of my brother back! This is the biggest insult I have ever received; you two are complete imbeciles. Guards, take these fools to the dragons and kick the living shit out of them first!” Eight
sailors rushed Crab Face and Leech, beating and “You
know Tomga if you keep this up your not going to have much of a crew left. “I
should feed everybody to the dragons,” yelled Tomga, with a mean expression
on his face, “I can’t believe the brains behind my crew. “I
will have some of
my hunters “Thank
you my love, I knew I could count on you in my moment of need. By the way
what has become of the U.S. ships?” “There
getting closer,” answered Caviperous, looking very confident, “very soon I
will have the magic ball, I have come up with quite the plan. Is the cage
ready?” “Almost,”
Tomga replied, “four or five more hours. I hope your girls can find that man
and his boat. We could really use another fast patrol vessel. I will give you
a great reward of gold and diamonds if you bring it back in one piece. Make
sure you tell everyone not to fire on it if someone runs across it again.” Two
worn out looking skinny slaves dressed in drag with chains around their necks
and black eyes from being beaten and raped came upstairs and carried the
beloved Slasher down to the cooks. The
Mirage continued slowly cruising up the mysterious river. “What
is the name of that island out there that we went by?” asked Mandy. “Its
name is Koh Samui,” replied Haon, “nothing lives there anymore, those madmen
killed everything alive.” After
about a half mile going up the river Mandy suddenly heard the sound of a
child’s voice and saw a pretty little girl in a tattered yellow dress running
along side of the sunny river on a trail waving and carrying a bunch of
flowers. “Hi
Haon,” the little girl yelled, while trying to keep up with the boat. Then
a little boy about the same age ran out of the jungle waving and carrying a
small bucket,
and said. “Hi
Judy, hi Tony,” Haon yelled, “Tony be sure to put that frog back after you
finish playing with it.” “I
will,” answered little Tony. Then
a goofy looking chimpanzee in a flowered dress holding an old naked Barbie
doll came skipping out of the jungle chasing after little Tony and Judy. “Are
those your children?” Mandy asked. “No
they are orphans, I rescued them just in time off of a sinking boat that the
pirates set on fire, their families were murdered. Those are two very loving
and beautiful kids, luckily they don’t remember much about what happened,
they both almost died.” “That
monkey is so cute, what is its name?” Mandy asked. “Oh her name is Bingo, Bingo and those kids are inseparable, they do everything with each other twenty four hours a day. Sometimes I think that clown Bingo is turning into a kid. They all live in the same hut together, it’s one well unorganized place.” The
Mirage passed the children and continued up the river and then a very
beautiful tall Australian lady with piercing sky blue eyes and long blond
braided hair, in a colorful Asian dress came out of some bushes carrying
bananas on her back. She stood frozen, staring seriously at the boat and put her hands on
her hips. “I
hope everything went well?” she asked. “Nothing
more than the usual spontaneous arrangements,” laughed Haon, as he took
another big drink off of the wine bottle. “You
really shouldn’t be drinking this early Haon,” commented the girl, “one of
these days I’m going to dump all of that wine in the river and do you a
favor.” “All
that’s going to do Omega, is kill whatever is still alive in our river,”
joked Haon, “you know how strong that stuff turned out. I need it for my
nerves, they’re pretty much shattered after what we just went through, this
time it was a very close one.” “Everything
you do Haon always turns into a very close one,” said the lovely Omega, as
the children ran up and Bingo jumped in her arms waving a naked doll,
“welcome to the Sanctuary Mandy, I’ll meet you at the pier and we’ll get you
a bath, some clean clothes and some food.” “How
did she know my name?” asked Mandy, as the boat proceeded up the river. “Omega
has the wonderful gifts of clairaudience, clairvoyance and clear awareness,” Haon answered,
“she can even see in the dark when she puts her mind to it.” “Is
she your wife?” questioned Mandy. “No,
we are just associates who ended up stuck in the same place together. We had
a research ship that was sunk off of Koh Samui by those demented assholes out
there and then we started a little habitat here. Our research involved
repairing ecosystems that went wrong.” The
boat approached a huge wall of foliage, trees and jungle and then the river
narrowed even more. Suddenly
much to Mandy’s amazement the Mirage cruised into an enchanted gorgeous
lagoon about seventy yards wide, filled with clear crystal blue water and
small bubbling waterfalls all around empting into it. There were bamboo huts
to be seen, a dock and a
