What Is Direct Linking?
Direct linking is using someone else's graphics or servers on your site. Most people let you direct link on somethings like links, gifts, awards, quiz results, ect. Others which have very little bandwidth rather you upload to your own server. Their chose is their chose, it maybe something personal, a rule by a host or what there domain offers but you must respect their desisions.

What Will Direct Linking Do?
To You- It can get you in alot of serious trouble, with your host or with the owner of the site you direct linked from. But how?, Some people get so upset with direct linking that they will get in touch with your host and make sure you get what you deserve! Again this is what they beleave.
To The Site Owner And The Site- The site could be shut down for quite a long time usally untill the end of the month but maybe even longer. The site owner most likely gets in trouble by its host and get questioned by its visitors.

What Can I Do To Prevent Direct Linking
Well, as you might know you can't totally prevent direct linking. But you can clearly point it out to your visitors and hopefully they will grant your request. Also if you buy a domain you can keep track of all directlinkers and posible make them pay! lol You can also get codes from sites eg. now right clicking.

Well Then, How Can I Get Graphics From Your Site?
You do something called saving to your computer and uploading to you server! lol Yes! actually use up your site space and not break any laws or requests! hehe! To save the graphic you can right click and click Save Picture As or if you bring your mouse over the image something will come up in the left, top hand corner you can click the disklooking one (1st). And then upload it to your server.

REMEMBER
NEVER EVER direct link unless there is a code provided! Give the creators the thanks they deserve, on the page the graphic is on or your credits page (Required!)
