Iron Maiden - Virtual XI (1998)

The Good
Wow.  What should I say here?  Is there anything good about this one?  Not really.  Two songs, Futureal and The Clansman, come to mind.

The Bad
Ok, you have to know first that Iron Maiden is my all-time favorite band.  This is easily their all-time worst album.

It starts with Blaze.  His voice just doesn't fit this band.  Its not only that Blaze Bailey was a poor choice to replace Bruce Dickinson, but the songs on this one just aren't that good and the production is horrible.  And The Angel and the Gambler is probably the worst Maiden song ever.

So, why do I own this worthless cd?  Well, like I said Maiden are my favorites and I'm kind of a completest.

The Packaging
The cover is ok.  Its not Derek Riggs, but still, I've seen worse.

The cd is enhanced with pictures of the band and a free AOL trial.  That's right.  You can get some Maiden with a dose of AOL.  Another reason to dislike this thing.

Bottom Line
I'm giving this one 1 1/2 only because it is Iron Maiden and they get that much by default.  Any other band might only get a 1/2 for this, but Maiden gets a bonus point.
