Shampoo is a beautiful Amazon Worrior, who is in love with Ranma. She was the best fighter from her tribe, and was beaten by Ranma in his cursed form. By the Amazon's law, if a female should defeat an Amazon worrior, the Amazon would follow them to the ends of the Earth, and KILL them. But if a male defeats an Amazon, then she HAS to marry him.
Shampoo is undoubtably the best female fighter in Ranma 1/2. She is almost the complete opposite of Akane. She cooks, cleans, and she obviously expresses her feelings and devotions well enough to make Akane go green with envy. But she also acts as if her own feelings are controlled by her Amazon law, and that she will ONLY love the one who defeats her. She changes her moods from night to day depending on the situation.
Shampoo was tricked by Ranma and went back to China thinking that her LOVE wasn't even a MAN! So, her Great-Grandmother, Cologne, took Shampoo to the Jusinkyo training grounds as a punishment for not completing her task. As it happens, she falls in, and now she is cursed with turning into a cat every time she is in contact with COLD water.
So now that she know this, she goes back to Japan and finds out that Ranma is under the same curse! But the only problem is that Ranma has the BIGGEST fear of cats, do to something that happened to him as a kid. So, everytime Shampoo turns into a cat, she can't even go near Ranma...but she cares and loves him so much...shampoo is really hurt by this fact.
