Hitomi and Van both wake up, but are seperated. Hitomi tries to get her necklace to show her where to go but she is grabbed by a moleman. Van hears her scream and runs towards the sound, but Allen get there first and saves her. She thinks for a second that he is Amano, then faints in his arms. Van arrives, worried about Hitomi and challenges Allen to a duel, but is easily defeated, his life spared. We find out that a man named Folken is working with Dilandau under Dornkirk. Dornkirk tells them that they must capture the dragon so that the legendary power of Atlantis can be reawakened. Hitomi wakes up in Allen's kingdom, Asturia. A very annoyed Van in brought over to Allen and Hitomi and the two tell Allen what had happened. Vanthen demands that he be given Escaflowne back to that he can return to Fanelia. Allen tells him that it was destroyed and burnt to the ground. The Zaibach floating fortress arrives and Dilandau requests supplies for his men. He see's Hitomi and tries to hit on her, but Allen says that she is his 'new lover' and kisses her (!), making both Van and Dilandau growl in annoyance. Hitomi finds herself thiking about Allen, then realizes that Van is in the room sitting in the corner. She tries to cheer him up with her Tariot cards which she realized were in her pocket, but he doubts that they could really tell the future. She shrugs off his remarks, then draws the 'La Morte' card--the card of Death! then has a vision of the skelleton coming to life and the area around her burning. Van snaps her out of it, afraid that the cards really do work. The moleman appears right after that through the floor and leads them underground and gives Hitomi her bag which he found in an attempt to appologize to her, and leads the two to Escaflowne. Van attempts to leave, but is stopped by Allen. The two men fight in their Guymelifs (Hitomi urging them to stop fighting each other). Van puts up a better fight than previously against Allen, but still looses. He also finds out that Allen was trained by Balgus! Hitomi has another vision of things burning and calls for Allen to run; the invisible enemy is coming. |
