Where to begin describing such a uniquely fantastic pony? 'Tis hard to put into words the enchanting effect this little darling has on one's heart. She is a top notch competitor, a loving and loyal companion, a pet, and a friend.

The Horse That Is Cadence On the farm, there is no sound I love more than the shrill nicker of this pony as she struts to the gate of her green pasture each morning to see me. She know's its breakfast time. She is not only hungry all the time, but she is hungry for anything you put in front of her, except french fries. She has a fascination with anything that isn't a saddle or a bridle, and would spend her entire life exploring, sniffing and nibbling if she could. A soft brush, a candy wrapper, a soda can, even a hoof pick, she'll paw and paw until she gets a thorough lookover of whatever you hold in your hand. She's playful and rambunctious, intelligent and sometimes recklessly curious as well. Each time you see her, her lovely ears perk forward and she'll whinny and wrinkle her nose until she gets the chance to lick your palm or sniff your jacket and jeans all over for a treat. After a while, I decided to put her curiosity, longing for treats, and intelligence to use. I've taught her to fetch her brushes from the bucket when I need them, to pick up her halter off her halter hook when she's it's time to get taken out of her stall, and to stand her two front feet on a stool while I pull her mane. Her favorite activity however, is kneeling while we play in the arena, because it is a certain way to get a carrot.

She is a great free-lunger and pays attention very closely when you ask her to come in to the center, and will place her small head under your arm against your side until you pat her face. She's so sweet and funny to those she knows and loves, but does have a protective tendency to those she doesn't know. We have seen how she passes on her amazing disposition and intelligence to her foals, her first colt Colors of Everest shows a funny curiosity and a dominance among the colts in the field. Cadence is the iron fisted alpha mare in her pasture.

The Competitor She may be a little scatter-brained and over curious in the stable, but when you load this pony into a trailer with her mane braided and her pillow wraps on, she knows it is time. Something in that little brain of hers clicks, and she turns on the show horse within her. A fantastic attitude, great movement, and top-notch training have helped her become a prestigious and intimidating opponent. Of all the shows she has been two, there haven't been many that she walked away from without a nice blue or red ribbon. She is so calm and cool at the shows that the other ponies and horses that we bring, even the warmblood stallions (who think shes very cute), look to her for direction and assurance that everything will be okay.

She has snagged many champion titles and it isn't surprising, because her ability to do hunter courses with perfect spots and distances is uncanny. I swear, this pony counts to four between the jumps and takes off where shes knows that jump will look beautiful. All she ever asks of her rider is to direct her to the right line. She goes center-to-center down straight and bending lines, stays balanced and upright on rollbacks and other sharp turns, and keeps her pace steady.

Her Gaits and Conformation Cadence was bred for her movement, that is plain to see. She is a classy "A" Level show mover with great hunter gaits. Her walk is naturally a quick, but even, working walk and her head moves naturally and relaxed. Her trot is not fast, but it is extended, so her steps are long and beautiful. She looks like a dressage horse and comes on the bit so beautiful all on her own. She points her hooves as well which make her look so very cute. Her canter stride is huge and this makes it easy for her to make the horse strides as she needs to in the large pony classes. Her canter on the flat is heaven to ride, smooth, flowing, even and balanced. Once you've ridden this girl's gaits, other horses feel choppy and difficult.

Her conformation is lovely as well, her hindquarters and back smooth and sloping, her stomach round but not droopy, with plenty of muscle. Her legs perfect length, not too long, not too skinny, her neck is thick and her chest deep, providing plenty of room for large healthy lungs and a big heart. Her legs are clean and she passes the flex test without any problems, and her health condition is perfect. Her eyes are large as are her nostrils, and her ears are long like a thoroughbred's.
