Overview:

The EBL has three Divisions (Singles, Team and Solaris).
The EBL has three seasons per year. They run from February to May, June to September and October to
January. The regular season is eight weeks long followed by a eight week long playoff period. Battles may be
fought over MegaMek or IRC (Internet Relay Chat). MegaMek rules are found below.
MegaMek:

Crashes have been fixed with in newer versions of MegaMek, but if  game is lost for whatever reason and if
both sides cannot agree to who is the winner and loser then the game is to be reported as a draw. If you feel
your opponent is not being reasonable or fair, then talk to Larry (aka Highball) on IRC and he will make the final
decision as to who wins, loses, ties, or if the battle does not count.

If your opponent has not moved within 10 minutes and has made no attempt over IRC or within MegaMek to
inform you of the their situation then you are free to leave the game and will be declared the winner. Input the
battle and describe the situation in the comment field.

MegaMek is the default venue for games in the playoffs. This is because in MegaMek there is no room for player
misinterpretation of the rules. If both players agree to play over IRC then it is allowed, otherwise the game is to
be played over MegaMek. In the event of any lost/crashed game in the playoffs it is to be replayed.
Disputes:

If a dispute cannot be resolved, or in the event of any other disagreements that arise, Larry will make a decision
that will be followed. He can usually be found in either #battlecaht or #davion under the nickname "Highball".

If a dispute involves Larry personally then Vang and Deadeye will be asked to resolve the issue.

In the event of one player delaying the game to play for a tie, the following rule will be used: If no unit from
either side makes an attack on an enemy unit for five or more consecutive turns, and one player requests that
the game be stopped amd sent to an arbitrator to determine a winner and loser, then the game is over and both
players should send the savegame to Larry, who will have Deadeye or Vang declare a winner, or if the game
     should be a tie.
Singles Division:

A maximum of 20 battles may be submitted per person, per season. No player may play against the same
     player more than two times.

The regular season runs from Feburary 1st to March 31st. Any battles received after midnight HST (Hawaii
Standard Time which is two hours after PST) March 31st will not be accepted. If there are any players East of
the International Date Line then they should contact Larry for any exceptions in reporting battles. Singles
Division playoffs begin April 2nd and run through June 30th.

Any Battletech, Battleforce or Battlespace battle is acceptable provided that both players are registered players
and that both have agrreed on force sizes and terrain. Upon the completion of the battle BOTH players must go
to the EBL site and report the battle. The email must be received within 24 hours of each other. If one is late,
an email will be sent to the individual telling them they need to input the form. If the email still has not arrived
after 48 hours then the offending player will be temporarily barred from EBL Singles Division for two weeks.
It wastes a great deal of my time tracking down people who do not input battles, so this is why such penalities
     are imposed.
Regular Season Rankings:

Players will be given 1 point for each win, 0.5 points for each tie and 0 points for each loss. An example
     standings chart is below:
The order of regular season tie-breakers is as follows: Points, Win PCT.

If a tie still results between the players entering the playoffs then their record against each other in the regular
season will be looked at. If the records are equal, or if they did not face each othere in the regular season a
     tiebreaker match will be fought.

If a tie results between players not going into the playoffs then no tiebreaker is required and they will keep the
     same standing.
Playoffs:

The players with the 8 highest point totals will qualify for the playoffs. P1 denoted a first place finish in the
regular season, P2 denotes a second place finish in the regular season, etc, etc. The playoff structure will be a
double-elimination tournament. When determining 5th/6th and 7th/8th placements the players will be ranked by
their regular season finishes. An example of this tournament is below.
Note: Round W7 would only be necessary if P2 wins in Round W6. Every player must lose twice to be eliminated from the tournament. Therefore, the winner is the player who has only lost once or not at all.
Prizes:

There are eight prizes for the winners to choose from. They are: Rick Raisleys Heavy Metal Vee Program, a $30 Gamers Union credit, a $20 Gamer's Union Credit, 3 Miniature paintjobs from The Mini Factory (Ross_Koga), 1 Mini/Paint Job from The Mini Factory (SalCrump), $25 Gift Certificate from RAMF Minitures & Games, manufacturere of the BattleHex Terrain System, 5 Player Selected Decal Sheets from Fighting Pirannah Graphics, and the Prize Lot.

The prize lost consists of prizes provided by players. If you wish to give anything for this lot please contact
Larry on IRC or by EMail to confirm your intentions. The lot currently consists of:
