“Chris?” asked a soft voice behind him.
Chris however didn’t hear the voice because of the noise he was making himself.
“Fuck!” cried Chris. “Why did you have to be so stupid Lance?! It wasn’t just your decision anyways! He was my friend too! The only reason why the renovations are taking so long is because of the changes I’m making to the Lambs quarters. I don’t want the Lambs to fear me! I want them to be happy living at my place now! And that wouldn’t of happened if I hadn’t become friends with JC!”
“Really Chris?” asked the voice again. This time however, Chris heard it.
“Yeah,” replied Chris turning around coming face to face with the owner of the voice. “JC!?!”
“I got off the shuttle,” admitted JC sadly. “I couldn’t leave. It was only after I was off that I realized I had no place to go, no master. They’ll kill me when they catch me. But I have to try. I have to try and understand why and I can’t do that from down there. I love Lance, Chris.”
“I know,” sighed Chris dragging JC into a tight hug. “And although it may not seem like it right now but Lance loves you! He wants you to be happy. And he thought you would be happier on Terra.”
“I need to talk to Lance,” whispered JC. “But I can’t. It’s after curfew and even if it wasn’t I’m without my collar and leash and I have no master anymore.”
“There might be a way,” admitted Chris thinking fast. “We both know you can easily past for a Shepherd. My car is nearby, if we get stopped by the paroles along the way back to Lance’s place, tell them you are Joshua Bass, who was married to Lance Bass in a private ceremony this morning. Tell them Lance has all the paperwork if they ask for proof. Understand.”
“Yeah,” nodded JC. “Will that work?”
“I hope so,” replied Chris. “I’ll feel a lot safer though once we get back to Lance’s place. I’ll stay with you there until Lance returns.”
“Lance isn’t there?” asked JC, confused, staring into Chris’ face.
“He was going to watch Joey tonight,” replied Chris. “It’s just starting right now and it runs for three hours.”
“That’s where we’re going then,” announced JC, wiping at the tears in his eyes.
“Huh?” asked Chris confused. “But if you get caught-”
“I need to talk to Lance now!” protested JC. “I don’t care what else happens!”
“Fine,” sighed Chris in defeat. “Follow me.”
*~*~*
A half-hour later the pair arrived at the club without any difficulties. They arrived just as Joey was finishing his song and they witness Kelly grab Joey into a hug and kiss him passionately.
“At least something turned out right today,” mumbled Chris under his breath as he searched the club for Lance.
“I see him,” whispered JC, nodding his head over to a corner table.
“Good luck JC,” whispered Chris, watching JC wander off while he made his way over to the table where Joey and Kelly sat.
“Hey, Joe. Hey, Kel,” he announced sitting down at the table and both nodded hellos to him. “Did Lance fill you in on what happened today Joe?”
“Yeah,” sighed Joey. “I don’t know how the hell that happened. Now we get to put up with a sad, depressed best friend for the next sixty years.”
“Maybe not,” replied Chris as he nodded over to where JC was slowly making his way unnoticed up to Lance’s table.
“What the fuck is going on?” asked Joey looking back and forth between where JC was and Chris.
“I don’t know,” admitted Chris. “But I hope it’s something good.”
*~*~*
“Hey,” whispered a voice breaking into Lance’s thoughts. All the young Shepherd could think about that night was JC and now he was really worried since normal people were starting to sound like JC to him.
“Hey,” mumbled Lance before looking up and getting the shock of his life. “JC?” he asked, tears forming in his eyes. “How is this possible?”
“I couldn’t leave,” admitted JC, sitting down at the table. “So I got off the shuttle. And with Chris’ help I was able to make it here. Chris wanted to go back to your place but I needed to talk to you Lance.”
“But the paroles,” protested Lance. “They’ll kill you if you get caught and I’ve already destroyed all your papers so you’re not even safe with me anymore.”
“I don’t care,” replied JC as he reached across the table and took one of Lance’s hands in his. “Lance, I love you, more than anything. If you want me to be happy, then let me stay here with you!”
“But-”
“I want to marry you Lance,” whispered JC. “On the way over here, Chris was telling me that it’s possible. I’d never hurt you and I never, ever want to leave you Lance.”
“I love you too,” replied Lance softly, tears falling from his eyes. “I want to marry you as well, as soon as possible.”
“Tomorrow then,” whispered JC leaning across the table to kiss Lance’s lips gently.
“Tomorrow,” murmured Lance before deepening the kiss.
*~*~*
“Well my job is done,” announced Chris as himself, Joey and Kelly looked on from their own table.
“They’re so cute together,” smiled Kelly.
“Yeah,” agreed Joey, snuggling up against Kelly.
“I’ll see you later kids,” smiled Chris. “Right now while Lance is busy, I’m headed back to his place and try and get an edible food problem installed into Geek, since Lancey never does a good job.”
“You’ll need a miracle to complete that!” laughed Joey as his older friend wandered off.
“I know,” called back Chris. “Maybe I should give up and buy a Lamb Cook for JC’s birthday. Mine’s really good.”
“I’m sure he would love that!” laughed Joey, knowing that Chris had no plans in buying any more Lambs for Lance or JC anytime soon.
