Chapter 6

“There you are!” declared Kate, the next day as Justin bounced into the kitchen. Justin had spent the entire day earlier playing games with Chris and Chris was allowing him to spend all of the new day practicing while Chris was at work. “What happened to you yesterday?” asked Kate with concern. “When you didn’t show, I went by your room and you weren’t there.”

“I was with Chris playing video games,” replied Justin. “He said I didn’t have to do any work yesterday except play with them and today I’m suppose to practice.”

“Chris?” asked Kate in wonderment. Throughout her entire time staying there, none of the other Lambs including herself ever dared to call their master by his first name.

“After a while yesterday he got tired of me calling him master,” explained Justin happily. He said when it comes to video games we’re equal so I should ignore the Shepherd and Lamb titles.”

“Interesting,” whispered Kate to herself.

“His bed is so soft,” continued Justin. “He let me stay there, these past two nights since I’ve been too tired to go back to my own room. It’s nice and big too.”

“I’m glad you’re filling realizing that living here isn’t so bad,” smiled Kate. “Now hurry up and get your breakfast. Knowing Master Chris, he’ll enjoy a quick game before he has to head out and I’m sure he’d enjoy your company.”

“Yeah, you’re right,” grinned Justin. “I’ll eat later after he leaves and then I’m going to practice until my fingers fall off. Come tonight, I’m going to kick his ass!”

“Good luck then,” smiled Kate as Justin hurried off back to Chris’ room where he knew that his master would soon be waking up.

“How is he Chris?” asked Josh later that afternoon as himself, Chris and Joey had gathered for lunch. Lance meanwhile was visiting Stacy, of which Josh would of gone with him but he wanted to talk to Chris about Justin.

“He’s good,” replied Chris. “A lot better than you are at video games. He’s a quick learner.”

“Is he better then me?” asked Joey.

“Yep,” grinned Chris. “We spend all of yesterday playing together and I told him to practice all day today. The kid was actually starting to give me some competition yesterday, I better be careful if I don’t want him to beat me all the time.”

“That’s good”, smiled Josh. “I’m glad he’s finally starting to be happy, but I mean, does he hate me for what happened?”

“Nah,” replied Chris shaking his head. “I promised him you’d come over soon and bring Geek with you. He loves that little robot of yours.”

“I can bring him over tomorrow,” suggested Josh. “Tonight, Lance and I are going over to Stacy’s.”

“How is she doing?” asked Joey.

“She’s good but she gets annoyed with us,” laughed Josh.

“Any names picked out yet?”

“Not yet,” sighed Josh. “We’ll be discussing it more once Stacy gets closer to her due date.”

“Christopher is a nice name,” grinned Chris. “And it was me who sent you two up in the first place.”

“Excuse me but I was the one who picked him out Chris!” protested Joey.

“Fine, Christopher Joseph is a nice name,” replied Chris rolling his eyes.

“Joseph Christopher.”

“Guys we don’t even know if it’s going to be a boy yet,” interjected Josh. “What if it’s a girl?”

“Christina.”

“Josephine.”

“You guys are too much,” chuckled Josh as he stood from their table and threw some money down to cover his cost in the meal. “I gotta go and get some work done since Lance and I are going out for an early dinner tonight before we head over to Stacy’s. We’re bringing something to eat and try and sweet talk her into staying with us again.”

“If she’s smart she’ll turn you down again,” Joey cheerfully called his friend before sharing a laugh with Chris.

*~*~*

“Hi babe,” whispered Lance as he approached his lover from behind and wrapped his arms around Josh’s waist and kissed the back of Josh’s neck.

“Hello yourself,” smiled Josh melting into the embrace. “But I thought we weren’t suppose to met until another hour?”

“I wanted to surprise you.”

“I’m glad.”

“So where do you want to go to eat tonight?” asked Lance tightening his grip on his husband.

“Someplace romantic.”

“Romantic huh?” smiled Lance. “Are you trying to get lucky tonight?”

“Going to you sisters after dinner might just kill the mood a little,” grinned Josh. “But I’m sure we recapture the magic once we’re home.”

“Alas, Stacy informed me at lunch today that she has plans tonight. That Ford guy she’s been seeing lately is taking her out for a nice quiet meal,” informed Lance. “So that means it’s just the two of us tonight.”

“Remind me to thank Ford later,” grinned Josh. “I always did like that guy. Does he know what she’s doing for us?”

“Yep and he thinks it’s wonderful that she would do that for her brother and brother-in-law.”

“I really need to thank him now!”

“Thank him later babe. Right now you owe me a date, remember?” smiled Lance.

“But you’re the one who’s suppose to be taking me out!” protested Josh with a grin.

“Blah, I spoil you!”

“You love it though.”

“Yeah I do,” smiled Lance.

*~*~*

“You let me win that one!” protested Chris while he glared at Justin who merely was laughing at him. The pair were currently sitting on Chris’ couch in his living room playing video games that evening and Justin was showing Chris what he had learned that afternoon.

“You won clean!” laughed Justin, not doing a good job of convincing Chris that he was wrong.

“You just want me to grant you another day of practicing!” exclaimed Chris and for a minute Justin thought that Chris was truly mad at him until he saw the twinkle in Chris’ eyes and the laugher that he was trying to hold back.

“You scared me for a minute,” replied Justin joining in with Chris’ laugher.

“Relax Justin,” chuckled Chris. “You’re the only competition I have so there’s no way that I’m having you quit now.”

“Good,” grinned Justin, flopping back onto the couch. “Because this thing is addicting.”

“You got that right!” laughed Chris.

The pair continued to laugh for a few more minutes before their laugher started to die down and Justin was able to ask the question that was on his mind all day.

“Did you talk to JC today?” he asked staring down at the controller in his hands.

“Yep and he’s coming over tomorrow night,” nodded Chris. “And yes he’s bringing Geek with him.”

“Good,” replied Justin unsurely.

“It’ll be okay Justin,” reassured Chris, throwing his arm around the Lamb’s shoulders. “He’s not mad at you or anything. He just wants to talk to you and try and be friends with you again.”

“Okay,” smiled Justin before turning his attention back to the game on the TV screen.
