“Hey beautiful,” called JC, while walking over and placing a kiss on Lance’s lips. “Ready to go home?”
“Yes,” nodded Lance with a smile. “I want out of here! I’m sorry I trashed your car though.”
“I don’t care as long as you’re alright,” replied JC softly. “Besides now I have an excuse to buy you a new one. I’m going to go find the nurse to see if I can spring you from this joint. Okay?”
“Okay,” smiled Lance and JC kissed him again before exiting the room. Savoring the kiss, Lance closed his eyes and didn’t open them again until he felt the presence of someone entering the room.
“Back so soon?” joked Lance opening his eyes but he didn’t find JC, he found Joey. “Umm . . . hey. Where are Randy and Eric?”
“Still sleeping,” replied Joey sitting down next to Lance. “Why didn’t you tell us?”
“Tell you what?” asked Lance although he knew what Joey was referring to.
“That you’re gay.”
“I don’t know,” sighed Lance, struggling to hold back his tears. “Everything just happened so quickly. I didn’t even know until I met Josh, I couldn’t handle it if you guys turned on me.”
“Lance, you’re my best friend,” whispered Joey giving him a tight hug. “And that’s not going to change just because you’re dating a guy now.”
“Thanks, Joey,” replied Lance softly. “How are Randy and Eric taking the news?”
“They’re a little weird with the whole thing but they don’t hate you,” grinned Joey. “Eric can’t understand why you would want to give up women. Although I can’t understand that one either.”
“I’m in love, that’s why,” smiled Lance, thinking about JC, and Joey had never seen his friend happier. “I love Josh so much.”
“I love you too,” came a voice from the doorway and both Lance and Joey turned their heads to find JC standing there which a smile on his face.
“Am I free yet?” asked Lance in a pitiful voice, pouting at his boyfriend.
“Yes,” chuckled JC, walking over and placing a kiss on those pouting lips before turning his attention to Joey. “Do you need a ride somewhere or did you drive yourself?”
“I took a cab here to leave the car for the other two to use,” explained Joey. “But it’s okay, I can take another cab back.”
“Come with us,” begged Lance. “We’ll invite the others over and have a party.”
“Only if you take it easy,” ordered JC. “You freaked me out yesterday.”
“I’m sorry,” sighed Lance. “The last thing I want to do is hurt you.”
“I know baby,” whispered JC, kissing the top of Lance’s head.
*~*~*
Twenty minutes later the three of them were pulling into Lance and JC’s driveway. “Home sweet home,” sighed Lance happily as they drove past the gates.
“This is home?!?!” exclaimed Joey. “Screw Chicago, I’m moving in with you guys!”
“Sorry Joey,” laughed Lance. “But you wouldn’t like living with us.”
“Why not?”
“It can get noisily at night,” replied Lance, blushing.
“Only at night?” asked JC with a grin and Lance blushed redder.
“You go Lance!” cried Joey punching him lightly in the shoulder. “Kinky bastard.”
“I think I liked it better when you didn’t know,” sighed Lance but he had a smile on his face.
“I’m serious about moving to Florida though,” replied Joey changing the subject. “Send out some of my demos. See if I can get my lucky break.”
“Talk to Chris this afternoon,” suggested JC. “He may sign you. Plus I’ll be willing to help you out with my connections.”
“Cool,” nodded Joey, vowing to do just that.
*~*~*
Four months later.
“How’s the album going?” Lance asked Joey as they sat out by the pool of his and JC’s place. In the past four months Joey had moved in with Justin who had been looking for a roommate, signed with Chris and had started working on his first album.
“Really good,” smiled Joey. “We’re still deciding on the first single though. I’ve discovered that C is a perfectionist.”
“It took you four months to figure that out?” laughed Lance. “Have you talked to Eric and Randy lately?”
“Yeah,” replied Joey grinning brightly. “You’ll never guess who their new roommate is!”
“Who?”
“Brady!”
“Brady? Our Brady? The ones that we went to school with and now works at the newspaper who pretty much was out to ruin my life? Really?”
“Yep,” grinned Joey. “Apparently he and his girlfriend broke up and she kicked him out of their apartment. Eric’s driving him nuts!”
“Good,” laughed Lance. “Part of me wants to thank him though.”
“Why?”
“Well if he didn’t slam me in those articles and me and Abby had gotten together, I would have never ended up with Josh, so I’m better off.”
“You two are so in love it’s sickening,” chuckled Joey.
“You’re just jealous,” teased Lance. “You want Josh for yourself!”
“Yeah, cause he’s so dreamy.”
“I’m way out of your league Fatone,” spoke a new voice from the doorway.
“Hi babe,” smiled Lance seeing that his lover was back from his meeting. “Good-bye Joey.”
“Yeah bye Joe,” murmured JC as he bent down and kissed Lance on his lips who melted into the kiss right away.
“Bye guys,” laughed Joey, waving good-bye leaving the lovers to themselves.
