What is the Navy League?

  • The Navy League of the United States was formed by a group of private citizens in 1902, with the backing by President Theodore Roosevelt, to educate Americans about the importance of maintaining a strong sea power presence as a way to prevent war through preparedness.

  • The Navy League is a civilian organization dedicated to the educating of our citizens, including our elected officials, and supporting the men and women of the sea services and their families.

  • Over 75,000 citizen Navy League members nation-wide with 350 councils (like ours in Everett) around the world.  Navy League supports all the seagoing services - Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Merchant Marines and the seagoing Reserves.
