Chapter One - First Sight and Irresistible Scent
Going up the stairs and into my room, I quickly shut my door and flipped on my desk lamp by my laptop I'd already set up on my desk and opened the bottle as I sat back on my bed already set up and made with my comfortable black and red blankets and downed the bottle of sweet red liquid.  I was glad we could live off taking blood packets from the hospital and putting them in water bottle containers for convenience rather than having to target and hunt down a human or local wildlife.  It was even more convenient when Nickolas and Gabrielle could get them without anyone knowing since Nickolas worked as a doctor and Gabrielle a nurse at the hospitals we lived nearby.
Pulling off the hoddie and setting it on my bed and the cut off glove, I changed into a pair of lounging pants and a t-shirt since I wasn't going to be getting any sleep tonight.  I was glad too that I could go a few days at most without any sleep.  Same thing with my adoptive mother and father and the rest of my kind.  But we did need our sleep sometime or another too.  I'd just get mine tomorrow after taking care of the school situation.  I glanced across my still bare room with only boxes and a few things set up to the full length wall mirror and looked at my reflection where my eyes were now their usual bright green.  I was no longer hungry so I didn't need to worry for another week or so about getting food.  But even so, the girl's scent was still making my mind reel and my mouth water.  I pulled the hoodie back up to my face and inhaled her scent again letting my mind reel again.  I was going to have to really figure out how to handle this.  The only way I could think of was to keep smelling her scent and get used to it so that way I could control it.
After a moment, I got up and grabbed my laptop and sat back on my bed and decided to do a little research on the school system and what areas were assigned to which of the two high schools in the district.  I found out that her area would be going to Northern High.  I was near the border of that school and the other school district nearby so I could choose where I wanted to go.  Well that solved my dilemma rather quickly.  Of course I was going to go to the school where she was at.
With that said, I inhaled her scent again and looked to her cut off glove.  It was her right one and the letters T-W-I-L were embroidered in blood red against the black fabric of her right glove, one on each finger.  'Twil?' I asked myself studying it and thinking of words that started with it.  'Twilight.  That must be a nickname.'  I smiled to myself.  'Good nickname.  Suits her well.'  I couldn't help but chuckle to myself at the irony of the oncoming darkness of night for a nickname as she seemed to like the night pretty much with her sneaking out and all.
Going over to my slider door to the balcony, I opened it and went out with her sweatshirt still in my hand and smelled the scent again as I looked up at the night sky and the moon shining down its silver light and then down to the direction of her house several miles off.  This was the beginning of quite an interesting little life I was going to play for the next few years here.  I didn't know why but I just had a feeling.  And I just knew that my life was going to be less boring for a little while.
