   Marriage Notes:

Remarks on family genealogy written by George Washington Gill Averett.
Greatgrandfather Gill, and his son, my grandfather George Gill, sometime before the War of 1776, came from Ireland to America and settled in Pennsylvania. Sometime before the Revolutionary War, Grandfather George Gill married Genett Hamilton who was also from Ireland (or at least her parents came from Ireland).
Greatgrandfather Gill and grandfather George Gill both, at the outbreak of the Revolution, enlisted in the army and fought under General George Washington and other American officers. Passing through many hardships and danger through the whole of that war, being in one defeat, and many victories.
