!He is listed in the Oregon Donation Land Claims. He claimed land in Clark Co, Washington 10 APR 1854. !MILITARY:In 1855 there was an Indian uprising at the Cascades and William volunteered to go. The Yakama's were subdued when they saw the number of fighters and William came home with the rank of Major. During his absence, Lovisa's son David was drowned in the Lewis River.
