Cardiff, Wales, home of the pirate ship The Cardiff Rose, for those of you who have been to the Novato Rennaisance Faire.  Otherwise its just the capitol of Wales.  Kind of a large, dirty city compared to the rest of Wales, which is all green and lush, but we were on a mission, and needed to exchange some soil from our Cardiff Rose booth for some soil from Cardiff proper.  As chance would have it, we stumbled upon the perfect site for the brief ceremony:  a ring of standing stones erected by the Victorians.  An anachronistic site for our ceremony of homecoming from our anachronistic ship.  Well Dr. Who would have appreciated it....

Here is the deed being done, hats off please....

Ok, hats back on.  Cardiff Castle is actually a pretty ritzy and modern affair, but it is built on an ancient fortified site.  The have a Roman Wall Museum where you can go see a Roman Wall.  I'm not kidding, that's all thats there, just a 30 meter length of a broken Roman wall.  No pictures, barely any lights.  Just a wall.  Of course you pay to see it too.  What a trap.  On the other hand, there's a pretty neat Norman keep in the courtyard (below).
