Through It All

All too quickly you saw my pain and sorrow,
Yet you looked past to my happiness,
And brought it out, to help comfort you,
When you brought your pain out to show.

In my eyes, you saw worry fighting lust.
Your shyness gave way to admission,
And told me it's wrong to be sorry,
Opening the way to passion for both of us.

You saw my anger, even though I tried to hide,
And looked past, to find the calm.
In return, when your rage came to bear,
I helped you forget the past, caringly by your side.

So, feeling right in your arms,
I thank you, and hope to keep going,
As equals in life, sharing humor,
And keeping each other from our self-inflicted harms.
