I own and operate The Excel Center - Peace of Mind Counselling and Hypnotherapy Clinic, a private practice clinic in counselling and clinical hypnotherapy. The scope of practice includes counselling and hypnotherapy for: panic attacks, pain relief, self-esteem, stopping smoking, and weight loss treatments. Individual counseling and consultation is also available in areas such as self-esteem, outlooks on life, life success, and behavioral changes.
I have been selected to act as the Executive Network Director of the 1-800-Therapist organization in Alberta, Canada. This task involves setting up a network of therapists in two area codes, and including some three million people in the Province of Alberta. This service provides free mental health referrals to qualified member mental health therapists in Alberta.
I act as the founder and president of the Canadian Chapter of the American Board of Hypnotherapy - CCABH. This organization is for Canadians who want to participate in an organization which promotes the profession of hypnosis and hypnotherapy. We promote the safe and ethical practice of hypnosis, as well as network and keep in touch with the developements in the hypnosis field.
Presently, I am involved in studies leading to the degree: Master of Arts
in Mental Health Counselling. The program is offered by City University which has
a campus in Vancouver, B.C. and has its main campus located in Bellvue,
Washington, USA. I am furthering my counselling knowledge in the
mental health field through this advanced degree, with the goal of becoming
a Chartered Psychologist in Alberta, Canada.
Employment History
1. Self-employed as a Counsellor and Clinical Hypnotherapist, The Excel Center - Red Deer.
2. Manager and co-owner of Eastman Clothing and EC Clothing. I was responsible for business planning, customer relations, sales, staff relations, and managerial duties.
3. Corrections Officer: Red Deer Remand Center. Responsible for security and running of inmate living units.
4. Psychiatric evaluator at the Alberta Hospital in Ponoka. I was responsible for directly working with special needs patients.
5. Armed Forces Reserve: serving with the 749 Communication Squadron - Red Deer. Earned rank of Corporal and Detachment Commander.
