Gundam Series

Airing in 1979, the original Mobile Suit Gundam television series, single handedly changed how giant robot anime were made forever. It was the first series to introduce mecha as mass-produced tools of war rather than single super-heroic units. In the last decade, numerous sequels have been produced. Each advancing the storyline of the original series in ever-greater narrative jumps, spanning entire generations and even alternate universes.
