You Know We've Been Cheated, Don't You?
There's something fishy going on. In the dark chambers of Queen's College where the big decisions are taken, the darts committee have decided, in their wisdom, not to seed Exeter for Cuppers. Instead, they've gone for Queen's and New (fair enough), then Wadham and Anne's, the top two in division 2. Since last year, the top two from division 2 went straight back down, this hardly seems like a reasonable approach.
As a result the predicted draw looks like this :

Exeter I :

First round - Queen's III (h)
Second round - Queen's II (h)
Quarter finals - Wadham (3) (a)

If somehow we come through this, it's New away in the semi.

Exeter II

First round - LMH I (a)
Second round (unlikely) - St Hugh's (a)
Quarter finals (impossible) - St Anne's (4) (a)
Meanwhile, it looks like it will fall to Oriel to knock out Queen's in the second round (please - come on!), or failing that Peter's in the quarters. John's and Catz are the main obstacles for New in the other half of the draw.
Fours

Exeter I :
Peter's III, then either Peter's I, Balliol or Oriel III.
Exeter II : A pre-qualifier against Anne's II, followed by Wadham II and Queen's. A test.
Exeter III : Queen's II. That's as far as they get.

Incidentally, our first four is seeded second - above Wadham and St Anne's. Can anyone explain this?

Doubles

A limited entry into doubles and singles this year. Stevenson and Mike Cooper are seeded seven in the doubles and play someone or other from Peter's; they're in the same quarter of the draw as Plumb and Holt (seeded two).

Clifford and Jon Turner play two blokes from Wadham, one of whom is called Tom X, apparently - could be difficult to e-mail him about the match. They would meet Speed and Potter in the third round - but only if those two achieved the astonishingly unlikely feat of beating first an LMH pair including Exeter "favourite" Henrik Salje, then took out Westy and Kader in the next round. Thomas and Lynch play some muppets from Keble.

Singles

A respectable 4th seeding for Stevenson gets him a bye through to round 2. There he meets either Lynch or Corpus's favourite son Jian Qin. And then it's on to round 3, and possibly Clifford! - if he gets past some chumps from Balliol and Peter's first, that is.

Elsewhere, it's Oliver Cheng vs Christopher Fryer (Anne's); Mike Cooper vs the bizarrely-named Endaf Kerfoot (Queen's); Mark Potter vs John Cleasby (John's) with the reward of Andy Plumb in the second round; Jon Turner vs Craig Fothergill (Trinity); and Sam Thompson vs Stuart Drury (Keble), with a possible second round against Michael Doran (16).

And in another seedings mystery, Lawson is seeded 2 and Pete Baker only 3. What the hell is going on there? West is 1, by the way, but only because Pilsbury isn't playing.
