Exeter College Darts

Well peters at home would always be a test, an early omen came when phils, taylor and "one shirt" atkins played kils and damage earlier in the evening in cuppers doubles and looked pretty useful.

But to the evening's entertainments....

After 6 legs it was 5-1, bag! Shit that's 5-1 to the peters. Stevenson
folded twice (as did clifford in their doubles), Fox was terrible in his
singles. The only bright spot came from a rejuvenated damage who beat
atkins fair and square (always a great scalp!). Barkworth continued the
trend of all 1st 4s players losing their singles, whilst Lewton, Fads and
Kils made sure the 2nd 4s all won theirs. Kils and damage win doubles
whilst Lewton and Barkworth are beaten by Atkins/Lyons. That's 5-6 in
their favour and Fox and Fads are up. Fads leaves Fox on x5 - 3rd dart -
BAG!

That's a beer leg to us! Only problem is that Stevenson's buggered off to
some debate in the Union, great, only 7 players what do we do? Play with
7? Field Sparkes? a past master of getting us out of sticky situations -
surely the only option? We'll go with 7 - Sparkes can do the scoring!

Everyon played solidly, Fox went 100, 160 - the latter being followed by a
180 from Atkins (!) and the doubles beckoned. Both teams had darts for it
but it was that man Fads that took out 7 (3
miss x2) to clinch the tie. Oh joy.

Peters were dejected as well they might be, blowing a 5-1 lead. As he
turned to leave, Lyons suffered the greatest indignity of the evening,
Steph turned to him and uttered the immortal line - "Look's like you've
just ordered a cheese pizza!".

Well this one really did come with extra CHEESE.
