The Winning Poems

INVESTOR'S DILEMMA
Jacqueline Hughes

The Footsie's up, it's time to sell my shares,
Then Greed suggests it might go higher yet
But if I wait the Bulls may turn to Bears
And prices fall like escalator stairs,
So all my paper profits go to let.
The Footsie's up, it's time to sell my shares,
I'll ring my Broker, check out my affairs
Or better still consult the Internet
But if I wait the Bulls may turn to Bears
The market catch a cold from Nikkei scares
Or Dow Jones jitters make the dealers fret.
The Footsie's up, it's time to sell my shares.
And join those other Blue Chip millionaires,
Dream on - for penny points are all I get.
But if I wait the Bulls may turn to Bears
As profit-takers issue from their lairs
And rally end in slump with me in debt.
The Footsie's up, it's time to sell my shares
For if I wait the Bulls may turn to Bears.
