About the author

Who am I?

Well there is a philosophical question... Who are any of us? Just kidding.

Lets see....

My name is Jeff and I was born in Canada on June 19th, 1975. I still live in Canada (Ontario) and love it. Like every country there are problems, but for the most part I think it is the greatest place in the world to live. But I am bias.

I got into RPG games when I was 11 or 12 when a friend of mine from school convinced me to play a quick round of AD&D. Well I wasn't a sword and shield kind of guy, I am a techno-junkie so I didn't really play that much. Shortly after that I moved and the local comic book shop carried Palladium Books Rifts series. I purchased the core book and found it had a nice balance between the arcane and the technological. However there were no players in my area, so I began to write. And I have been writing ever since.

Well my first work of Palladium fiction was really cool at the time, I now realize how bad it really was. That was Rifts: Antarctica. After Antarctica I wrote Rifts: Heaven and Hell. It was and is my favorite work of fiction I have ever written. I understand why Palladium distances themselves from that kind of work, but I still think it would have made a really amazing book. Well from there I did a few short works, nothing major. then came Exo-Wars.

All I can say is when I think big, it usually means several hundred and sometimes thousand pages of text. Antarctica at last count was over five hundred and fifty (550) pages. Heaven and Hell is much smaller, by intention, at between one hundred and fifty to two hundred pages. Exo-Wars is shaping up to be three hundred-ish for the core, with each supplement to come in at a hundred and a half or so.

My interests are Palladium (obviously), technology, yes Star Trek, computers, art, writing (duh) and programming. I am employed as a Wine Advocate for the L.C.B.O. (Liquor Control Board of Ontario) which takes up a lot of my time, but hey I get paid to tour wineries and promote wines and spirits, there are worse things to do. I have meet some great people in my time with the public, which is where I get a lot of character ideas. I also get a lot of my ideas from the media. Current affairs are a great place to start a campaign, after all reality can be stranger then fiction.

Well that is it for now. Thanks for reading my ramble. And please enjoy the rest of your stay at Exo-Wars.

Peace.
