Campaign Objective: Acquire
Acquire
campaigns can be played out in a number of ways ranging from legal
purchases to illegal theft, depending on the type of campaign the Game
Master plans on playing. For example if the game is being played as a
tactical war game you may choose to go in guns blazing and steal the
target. Or if you are planning a covert operations campaign your team
may go in using false identities and purchase the item from Black
Marketers or Arms Dealers. Either way the ultimate outcome of the
scenario is the acquisition of the merchandise, at all costs. Information:
You are assigned the task of acquiring information. The information
could have been stolen from you originally. In which case the scenario
plays out more as a recovery then an acquisition. Or you may be assigned
the task of getting specific information about a top-secret project. In
that case you might be a mercenary, spy, military agent or other
character seeking the information through covert and overt means. Medicine/Drugs:
Your mission is to get a hold of medicine or drugs. If you are playing a
covert operation you may be forced to acquire illegal narcotics for use
in an upcoming exchange. Or you could be a medic operating in less then
ideal conditions and the only way to treat your patient (s) is to get
medicine. Both scenarios could have you running into criminal elements,
Black Marketers or other less then honorable characters. Technology:
You are on a mission to locate new technology. The first rule of
military combat is to acquire enemy technology for analysis. You could
be assigned a mission of salvage from a recent battle. Or maybe you are
sent into enemy territory to acquire their technology for later analysis
by your allies. Or you could be a private citizen with a fancy for the
high tech, ever vigilant for that new fix of government-regulated high
technology. Equipment:
Similar to technology, but with wider targets. You mission is to acquire
a specific piece of equipment. You could be a local hero searching for
equipment that will prevent your community from failing. A vital widget
in the local power plant needs replacing and you’re the only one that
can do it. Or maybe you need special equipment to repair your military
transport, finding that equipment without the use of your transport or
armor leaves you at risk, but if you are to survive you must find the
equipment and repair your transport. Exo
Supplies: While operating behind enemy lines or near the front lines
your Exo begins to run low of ammunition and fuel. Cut off from a safe
retreat you have no choice but the hide your Exo and locate supplies on
your own. This may mean taking cover with local rebel forces, venturing
into enemy controlled territory or even and enemy base camp. This
situation could be further exaggerated if the enemy knows the playing
character. Maybe you are an Exo Ace with a reputation, in which case
they may be looking four you. Prototype/Information:
You have been assigned the high priority mission of finding, acquiring
and returning an Enemy Prototype Exo. The unit is an advanced combat
unit combining heavier weapons and stealth technology. The unit it self
is not yet functional so you have the opportunity to steal the prototype
and its design information before the enemy can test it and put it into
production. The target can range from an Exo prototype to a new tank,
airplane, ship, or computer, any significantly advanced and valuable
target is appropriate. |
