General Electric S61 20mm Gatling Cannon

The S61 was one of the first supercavitating gatling cannons ever successfully put into production. It represents a new direction in underwater combat technology. Up until the development of the underwater cannon, naval warfare was limited to expensive torpedoes, ineffective mines and surface vessels. Now the underwater craft had a cheap and effective way of attacking an underwater target without resorting to expensive torpedoes. The S61 S-Cav turret is a mutli-barrel cannon that fires small explosive tipped supercavitating rounds, able to penetrate enemy hulls and cause catastrophic damage to internal systems.
