General
Dynamics 20mm Light Anti-Aircraft Cannon
|
The General
Dynamics Light Anti-Aircraft Cannon is the first of three
Anti-Aircraft weapons produced for the Exo class market.
Originally the Exo was never intended to serve as an anti-aircraft
platform, however the maneuverability and versatility of the Exo
soon saw it being forced into the role with weapons that did not
fit the bill. Soon after they proved their worth as AA platforms a
few manufactured began supply dedicated anti-aircraft weapons, the
first was General Dynamics. The Light AA Cannon is designed to
flood the air with explosive tipped rounds. However to reach the
maximum altitude possible the weapon could only fire very light
ammunition. Even if the rounds exploded near a critical system
such as an intake, it would still require many bursts to down a
plane. As such the Light AA Cannon is used only as a defensive
tool, it lacks the real punch of a more threatening weapon.
