Grumman 40mm Heavy Assault Cannon

The pinnacle of Grumman’s foray into the Exo Class weapons market id their Heavy Assault Cannon. Its stopping power is comparable to a Light Assault Tank or Infantry Fighting Vehicle. The weapon is usually reserved for officers and heavy Exo’s, although it can be handled by any of the Alliance Exo designs. The Heavy Assault Cannon fires the same rounds many Anti-Aircraft Batteries aboard Naval vessels fire, thus ammunition for this large bore weapon are extremely plentiful. In the battlefield the extra penetrating power of the Heavy Assault Weapon comes in handy when tank hunting and defending a location from heavily armored aggressors. The only draw back to the Heavy Assault Cannon is its limited ammunition supply, a problem that Grumman is currently trying to solve as quickly as possible. For the moment Grumman has offered an incentive program to the Military, they are supply all the ammunition clips that military wants at no charge. Many field technicians have started armor plating the barrel of the cannon, in close combat the long barrel sometimes gets damaged or bent preventing the safe use of the weapon. To solve this problem a simple sheet of armor plate is mounted on the barrel, Grumman is currently looking into the permanent inclusion of the modification in their next big production run. The last feature of the weapon is its standard issue folding bipod. Located on the lower cylinder are two stowed legs that can be unfolded in seconds to allow the pilot to effectively use the weapon when in a prone position.
