The Heckler
& Koch 30mm Anti-Aircraft gun is the most commonly deployed of
the Anti-Aircraft weapons used by Exo Pilots. Its high cyclic rate
and accuracy have proven again and again that it is the weapon of
choice for Anti-Aircraft operations. The MAAC fires a larger,
heavier version of the LAAC explosive tipped round, while not
having the range of the lighter version, the MAAC can ensure
damage is inflicted with only a few rounds, or even a single round
is a vital or critical location is struck. The MAAC has been
nicknamed the ‘Whistling Death’ because of the noise the air
cooled muzzle makes when being fired, a low frequency hum or
whistle can be heard, Heckler & Koch know of the noise defect
and have chosen to leave it as is, only because of the reputation
the noise and gun have together.
