The Hughes
Medium Rifle is the standard rifle issued to any Exo trooper when
a rifle series of weapon is called for. Heavier units are often
assigned the Hughes Rifle because of its durability, simple
operation and repair. Like all of the rifle type weapons the
Hughes is only capable of firing single shots, however its
improved accuracy out way its lack of auto fire capability. A
single accurate shot is worth 50 random shots. The Hughes 30mm
rifle is a favorite weapon among squad commanders; they find that
the Hughes rifle is the perfect training weapon for new Exo
pilots. The rifles accuracy and dependability build confidence in
the young pilots while the single shot limitation forces them to
learn better targeting skills, as well as prevents them from
wasting valuable ammunition.
