Infantry Soldier O.C.C.

The Infantryman is the main combat force of the military. It is the job of the Infantryman to capture or destroy enemy forces, repel enemy attacks and deny enemy assets. Infantrymen operate weapons and equipment to engage and destroy enemy forces.

To facilitate there missions the Infantryman is trained in the operation, maintenance and storage of automatic weapons, rifles and machineguns. They are trained in various Parachuting techniques while carrying weapons and supplies.  They are trained in the operation of various armor piercing weapons, primarily shoulder launched Ant-Tank and Anti-Exo missiles. The Infantryman also doubles as the military scout; they are trained to scout out enemy troop movements and weapons locations. Make assessments on enemy threat potential and report back. All Infantrymen are also trained in the operation of basic wheeled vehicles such as the Humvee and wheeled APC’s. During beachhead operations the Infantryman is assigned many duties similar to the Field Mechanic, in the preparation of field emplacements, foxholes, trenches, bunkers and alike.

Infantry training starts with basic training of about seven or eight weeks. Advanced training in infantry skills lasts for another eight weeks. While some of the training is in the classroom, most is in the field under simulated combat conditions. In reality, training for an infantry soldier never stops. Infantry soldiers keep their skills sharp through frequent squad maneuvers, target practice, and war games. Because infantrymen must be prepared to go anywhere in the world they are needed, they work and train in all climates and weather conditions. During training exercises, as in real combat, infantrymen work, eat, and sleep outdoors. Most of the time, however, infantrymen work on military bases.
