Electronics “Lightening” Hand Grenade
|
The
Lightening Grenade, as it is commonly known, is a specially
designed one-shot electronics weapon. The main body of the grenade
houses a high capacity pulse charge coil whose principles are
based on a scientific device known as a Pinch. The grenade if
charged prior to its release from a weapons storage unit. The
grenade is activated like any other Exo grenade and thrown.
However its delay mechanism does not detonate a high explosive
payload, rather it triggers a short range, but powerful
electromagnetic pulse. Any unshielded electronic device ranging
from the modern toaster to unprotected military electronics will
suffer complete systems failure due to the effects of an EMP. Even
though the grenade is not physically destroyed, the pulse charge
coils are burnt out by the rapid expulsion of its electromagnetic
charge.
