The
Objective Individual Combat Weapon (OICW) provides an
enhanced capability for the 21st century infantryman, with the
potential to selectively replace the M16 rifle, M203 grenade
launcher, and M4 carbine. When fielded, the OICW dual munitions
system will provide superior firepower to the U.S. Army, Marine
Corps, Air Force, Special Operations Command, Navy, and Coast
Guard.

Auto-Destruct
Mode. The OICW can detonate a 20mm HE round in chamber
to destroy the weapon itself. The resulting detonation
will ignite any remaining ammunition. the weapon itself
will be 100% destroyed, leaving only burnt material
behind. The weapon can not be repaired and none of its components
are salvageable. |
