Rock Island Inc. 105mm Light Field Gun

The Rock Island Light Field Gun is the primary towed cannon of the Rapid Deployment Forces of the Axis. The basic arrangement of the gun is that of a typical towed field gun, the main barrel and breach are mounted on a recoil suppressor and turret. The turret is then mounted on a simple two or four wheeled chassis that can be towed by any light to medium weight vehicle, the suspension in the chassis allows the gun to be towed off-road with little concern for damage. Typically a crew of four in a Humvee or other multi-purpose off-road vehicle tows the Light Field Gun. The normal crew combination includes a Field Gunner (equal to a commander), Gunner’s Mate, Ordinance Specialist and a Target Coordinator. The Gun itself is a smooth bore weapon capable of firing a variety of 90mm shells including the new 90mm BLAM (Barrel Launched Adaptive Munitions), which is able to alter its trajectory while in flight.
