The
largest of the Rock Island Field Guns the 180mm is a devastating
super weapon. Developed in the waning days of the Vietnam conflict
to help deliver projectiles into the interior of the jungles of
Vietnam, the 180mm is the pinnacle of Field Gun technology. The
weapon looks like any other field gun, except larger. The gun
dwarfs most other field guns by 50%, and can only be towed into
battle by heavy equipment, tracked vehicles and heavy construction
equipment. Even heavy Exo’s would have a great deal of
difficulty moving a 180mm. The gun is commanded by 10 troops, a
Field Gunner (equal to a commander), 3 teams of 2 Gunners Mates
who load the ammunition, a single Ordinance Specialist, a
Targeting Coordinator and a forward observer who reports back
regarding targets, enemy troop movements and hit-miss success.
