What is Exo-Wars?

What is Exo-Wars?

Well in its simplest form, Exo-Wars is my little contribution to the web and the Palladium Megaverse. The long answer is this... Exo-Wars was a idea I had a while ago and sat on. Then one rainy day I decided to lay pen to paper, or was it pencil.... It started out as an alternative-Earth setting. I did a lot of research about the American Military System, man they have a lot of O.C.C.'s.. So I began writing, first I laid down basic ideas, I wanted a dynamic playing environment that could be easily associated with, that's the reason their are no psychic or magical abilities in Exo-Wars.

Since no magic or psychic abilities can be proven to exist in our world, and that most of us have never had any first hand experience with either, I decided to exclude them. Since we can all associate with technology, from the computer screen you are reading this on, to the watch on you wrist, I focused on the tangible 'things'. Now you might be saying 'Tangible", your talking about walking tanks for crying out loud. Well that's true, but what's easier for you to envision? Magic portals or walking machines??

I need to get back on track. Exo-Wars is a near future setting with slightly more advanced technology, in some areas. You will notice there are no nuclear weapons in Exo-Wars, they would potentially unbalance the setting. Every device, machine, vehicle, robot and item in Exo-Wars is either a current technology in production, research or theoretical machine. Even the technology that the Exo's is based on is a real scientific principle, only stretched to fit the Exo-Wars universe.

I plan on adding several 'books' to the Exo-Wars sight, including the one you are reading which is the core game, Exo-Wars: The Role Play Game. Future expansions have already been planned and research is underway, including the following tentative title:

Exo War: Deep Blue: A ocean sourcebook, hopefully it will be received better then Rifts Undersea. It will focus in on the submarine military forces of the Alliance and Axis. It will also introduce a new vessel class to the world, the Sub-Fighter. Its (hopefully) a Top Gun meets The Hunt for Red October.

Exo-Wars: Seven Seas: Seven Seas is the sister book to Deep Blue Sea, except this deals specifically with the surface fleets of the world. Look for a whole armada of advanced fighting vessels based on the DARPA Trimaran research project. As well as a number of unmanned vessels and alike.

Exo-Wars: Tank Command: Tank and Artillery. Need I say more? Tank Command will focus in on the land warfare systems of the Alliance and Axis, but not the Exo's. The book will contain all manner of wheeled and tracked, and maybe even hovercraft used the world over.

Exo-Wars: Wild Blue: An aerial combat sourcebook outlining military aircraft and weapons. I have a deep love of airplanes, so this might take a little longer, not to mention there are some rules about aerial combat that need to be worked out still, but hey, you never know. Its something I am really looking forward to.

Exo-Wars: Extreme Operations: I think this will be a combination hook-line-sinker book and covert operations sourcebook. I am looking at covert operations, Navy SEALS, CIA, FBI, etc... type sources for inspiration. Of all the titles this one is the one most likely to change from my original idea. It should be interesting....Now if only I could get an collaboration with Tom Clancy...hmmmmm...

Exo-Wars: Character Compendium: Is the last title I am looking at doing. It will be a hook-line and sinker book containing the character bio's for world leaders, major players and organization. And may include a corporate warfare section for those that want to play 'Industrial Espionage' games.

Well that's about it. The long and the short of it. If you have any questions or comments please feel free to contact me at the email address below. I hope you have enjoyed your visit and please continue with the site.
