You're My #1

imagined by: Sally Cowan
Basic concept: a love fight just proves love stronger ...
Characters: Enrique and Sally herself

It's a moonlit beach ... and as the intro begins, the camera focuses on a silver pendant, washed up on ocean's shore (waves having the rhythm of the music ...). It is broken.

The camera swoops up on top of a cliff, where Enrique is standing. He starts to sing ...

"I've kissed the moon a million times/Danced with angels in the sky"
He's wearing white shirt and gray pants (remember that "hurricane picture" in In Style mag?!) and he's bare feet.

"I've seen lips that spark desire/Felt the butterflies a hundred times"
Imagining Sally's lips, Enrique opens an unclenched fist, while holding the broken necklace.

"But still haven't seen anything/That amazes me quite like you do"
He's now overwhelmed with happy times memories ... flashbacks of him and Sally when they first met and fell in love and when he gave her the necklace.

During the chorus there are more flashbacks ...

"You bring me up when I'm feeling down/You touch me deep you touch me right"
.... them slow-dancing on a balcony ...

"You do the things I've never done"
... them running in the rain ...

"You make me wicked, you make me wild"
... them chasing each other on the beach ...

"'Cause baby, you're my #1"
... passionate kiss (showing them kissing on the balcony, in the rain, in the sun ...)

For the second verse, the location moves in Enrique's room. They are fighting, Sally's crying and she rips the necklace from her neck breaking it. She throws it on the bed and runs out. Enrique remains sitting on the bed, with his head in his hands (close shot of this image).

Shots of Sally's empty room, few packed bags, a cab waiting ... She's leaving.

"I've even seen miracles/I've felt the pain disappear"
She sits in the taxi with tears falling down her face, as it starts to drive off. Through cab's back window we see Enrique driving up his car (a jeep ... of course). Close ups of his face expression: he looks devastated to find she has gone.

"But still haven't seen anything/That amazes me quite like you do"
He has with him the necklace, which is now mended. Sudden scene of him in front of an apartment door ... he hangs the necklace on the door and leaves, having more flash backs of good times together (as the chorus starts) ...

"You bring me up when I'm feeling down/You touch me deep you touch me right"
... them sitting together in a hammock watching the sunset, while Sally walks her fingers through his hair ...

"You do the things I've never done/You make me wicked, you make me wild"
... them lying in bed while a hurricane rages outside ...

"'Cause baby, you're my #1"
... again passionate kiss (showing them succesively in both previous locations...)

During the instrumental part, we find Enrique back on the moonlit beach, walking next to the surf .... He starts singing very passionately the last but one chorus ... Then the camera focuses slowly on his steps, down his feet, and suddenly the necklace is right there. He crouches down to pick it up. By the last chorus the camera moves back to show Sally is there, too. She's crouching beside him. They stand up together, holding each other's hands.

For the final chords ...
"You're my number one .."
the camera recedes back with an aerial view of the two of them locked in a deep embrace ...
