-Concentrating on the missionary response to immigrants to Christianity and an Anglo-Protestant way of life and to demonstrate the social meaning of the Christian faith.

-Sikhs deserved especially favourable consideration as immigrants, given their fine record of military service to the British Empire.

-The South Asian men were not allowed to bring their wives until later on.

-Were not given the rights to vote until later years.

-They fought in the First World War.

Reflection:

The South Asians at first were treated badly. Many of their rights and privileges were taken away. Upon their arrival they were persuaded to conform from Sikhism to Christianity. The men were given low paying jobs were working in unsafe conditions.

The men coming into Canada were not allowed to bring their wives. The wives were granted permission to come over from the Canadian government after the coming years. Later on more and more South Asians were immigrating to Canada. The government then became more understanding and the people faced less discrimination. The South Asian also helped Canada’s economy.
