Temperature on Pluto

The Surface temperature on Pluto is not well known but scientist believe it is between 35 and 45 Kelvin (-228 to -238 Celsius).

The brighter areas of Pluto are covered with ice of nitrogen with smaller amounts of solid methane, ethane, and carbon monoxide. The darker areas of Pluto's surface are unknown.

Very little is known about Pluto's atmosphere, but it most likely consists of Nitrogen with some carbon monoxide and methane. For the majority of Pluto's long year, the atmospheric gases are frozen into ice.
