| || Itchin' To Bleed... || [Foreword] I hit the express way, an hour and twenty minutes before the show. An hour and twenty minutes before fate would undoubtedly be set in stone. I had a lot of time to think on my drive. My son... My wife... My ex-wife... Just how much does this sport mean to me? Heh... Just when it was becoming distant to me, a shining light escaped the clouds. I ticked with nervousness. My skin started shriveling. I needed something... and quick. I needed a fix. Something to take the edge off. I'm afraid I've become addicted to it. I pulled over to the side of the road and took out a six inch razor blade, bringing it to my forehead. Scraping and tearing away at the flesh... Crimson river... flooding my face. I'm no longer pretty... No longer an angel... No longer a believer in the balance between happiness and sadness... Euphoria is the only key in this world. Sometimes it happens like that. Someone, some where is just like me... They're itching to bleed. [Scene] It was precisely 6:30 as the dark Jaguar pulled up to the arena. Josh Sutton stepped out, gripping tightly on his gym bag. He walks toward the entrance of the building, his head heavily taped and blood still finding a way to soak through. As Sutton walks in head reporter Carol Diamond rushes to meet him. Diamond: Josh Sutton! It's been a while. Sutton: For a reason, Ms. Diamond. Diamond: Can I have a moment of your time? Sutton: Cut the bullshit and toss me the questions. Diamond: Tonight is the sixth match in the deathmatch tournament between Mr. Matt Scheffert and yourself. As it stands you have the lead three to two. You have the chance to not only win the series but defeat Xtreme Rebel three times in a row. Can you do it? Sutton: I've been here five minutes and you're already testing my credibility. Xtreme Rebel ain't shit! He won a couple on me. So what? I won the matches that mattered. Diamond: But you can't discredit Matt's heart. He's been in this one with you through thick and thin. Sutton: Heart? Let me tell you something about heart, Carol Diamond. Hollywood has overexaggerated 'heart'. All of these high paid actors are on the big-screen overcoming all the odds. Beating strong adversity. But heart doesn't get you anywhere except pinned to the mat in this business, Matt Scheffert. Or laid up in a hospital bed. So, you tell Rebel that he can get up, and up, and up... And I'll do what I do best... and that's graciously knock him the fuck right back down! [Scene] Sutton looks at Diamond then kneels down to his bag. He opens it up. Sutton: And this, Ms. Diamond, is what I plan to use. [Scene] Josh pulls out an aluminum baseball bat wrapped generously in barbed wire. Sutton: Tonight, Matt Scheffert, like a lamb to the slaughter you will go down... This will not go on any longer. I can not allow it to. The currents await me, and you must remember that... Can you do that for me? I certainly hope so, because I've placed a choice in your hands... Don't fuck it up... Please... Don't fuck it up. Now... If you'll excuse me Carol, it's time for me to depart... [Scene] The scene fades out as Carol Diamond watches Sutton take off down the hallway, dragging the bat along the floor. |
