| || Blood Runs Cold... || ...[Flashback]... Blood: You can't leave me this.... Please. Sutton: Let it go old man. It's over. Blood: I can't do that, and you know it. Sutton: You really have no choice. I will not be held down by fear anymore. Your power of entourage will no longer be power overwhelming to me. This is goodbye, Victor. I turned again, walking. As I arrived at the door, I heard a click. I turned, looking down the barrel of a magnum. Victor gripped it loosely. Negotiations were far from over... ...[Continued]... Thoughts raced through my mind. What do I do? I can't risk being shot. If I managed to disarm him what would stop one of his comrades from putting one in my back. I looked at Victor with disgust. He pointed toward the door. Jenova and Drake led the way. I followed, feeling the barrel of the gun against my spinal cord. We piled into an awaiting limo and quickly departed. It was silent for a long while. Sutton: Where are you taking me? Blood: To settle this mess. The ride seemed to go on forever with the silence. When we came to a stop, I realized two things: a) we were outside of civilization and b) I was liking this situation a whole lot less. Jenova and Drake extracted me from the vehicle. We were in a desolate location, off of a main highway I assumed. I pulled free from the two goons' grasp, faintly surprised by Jenova's grip. Victor approached in his gallant manner, hands behind his back. Blood: I've accepted the fact that you wish no longer to serve under me, Josh. Sutton: Look, there's nothing you or anyone else can do to convince me otherwise. Blood: I fully understand that. But I don't want you to lose your life over this, Josh. I've raised you as my own. It would simply pain me too greatly inside to allow you to leave this Earth... Victor stepped right up to my face. I could smell the stale alcohol on his breath as he pinched my cheek. Blood: ....Without suffering a little. I felt the wind leave me as the old man punched my gut hard. I would have doubled over had Victor not put his foot up. He shoved me back to my feet and grabbed my chin, a look of hate in his eyes. Blood: I want you to feel the same amount of pain physically as you've caused me to feel mentally! This is a fight for your life Josh, can you hear me?! My body racked with pain as I felt another blow hit my stomach. My temples pumped... My hands clenched. I began to lose my composure and the ones around me enjoyed this. But would they for long? Could they? Blood: You're going to fight Drake, Josh. No weapons... No treachery... Just brutality. The sort of thing you're used to. Only this time Josh, the stakes are greater than they have ever been before. If you lose, your life ends at my hands... Sutton: Ugh... And if I win? Victor gave me a toothy grin. Something I hadn't seen from him in a long time. The sick bastard was getting some strange pleasure from this situation. Blood: Not likely to happen... But should it, you'll walk away from this alive and free, Josh. Sutton: Then let us begin... |
