| ||Comparison: Cena & The Franchise|| [Foreword] In a new-age world it's very easy for an accomplished veteran of professional wrestling to become overlooked. In part due to the massive overpackaging of gimmicks and tiring merchandise campaigns. Those who don't bite the bullet and follow like sheep, suffer. My punishment, you ask? A surname... Nay, a worthy title given to me by righteous fans in my glory years... A name that struck fear into the hearts of my opponents... A name that has been unrightfully stolen. [Scene] A forthcoming winter breeze whistles through as the scene begins to take shape. Leaves scatter amongst the ground. Several yards beyond a pair of feet can be seen. As the camera pans up, Shane Douglas walks into view. His usual smile is not present. Replacing it is a rather dismal grimace. From the looks of it, he has a lot on his mind. 'The Franchise' Shane Douglas "John Cena... Ugh. Where do I begin?" [Scene] Douglas paces several lengths to the right with his hands visibly behind his back and head dropped. He continues on. 'The Franchise' Shane Douglas "Cena, just like rap, you're a piss stain on the toilet seat of the United States. I remember watching you break into the wrestling business. Oh yeah, I remember it well. A bull-headed mass of muscle, nothing more. What was your name? Oh yes... The Prototype! A man made to perfection... Something of a machine. And just like a machine, Cena, you had no fucking charisma. No drive... No talent to make it in this business." [Scene] Douglas laughs whilst keeping his seriousness intact. 'The Franchise' Shane Douglas "But in one of his many blunders, Vince McMahon saw a shining light in the pile of shit that I face this Sunday. Next thing you know there's an ugly prick on World-wide television wearing tacky green biker shorts and cheap wrestling gear. The only way to describe the atrocity is mixing Hulk Hogan with Dolph Lundgeron." [Scene] The Franchise laughs at his witty humor that most would not understand. He reaches up, stroking his goatee curiously. 'The Franchise' Shane Douglas "After a few months of sending crowds home with diarrhea of the mind, the World Wrestling Entertainment repackaged the walking joke into an even bigger one. A rapper... A white boy, straight-from-the-streets rapper. Now take a second and try to comphrehend this, folks... Are you grasping the concept I'm laying out for you? A man with the 'perfect' physique is now supposed to be a 'school of hardknocks' rapper-badass? Who comes up with this crap?" [Scene] You can see an anger beginning to rise in the horizons of Douglas' eyes. His nostrils flare and his temples throb. 'The Franchise' Shane Douglas "John Cena, for you to claim to be 'The Franchise' is not only a fradulant misconception, but a slap to my damn face. It's a pissing rain on the career I've spent years building from the ground up. I've been passive about the whole thing up until this point. But as time wears on, the more the thorn drives into my side. And no longer can I take it. John Cena, your physique... It pales in comparison. Your mindset... It pales in comparison. Your wrestling ability... It damn sure pales in comparison. You're nothing but a failed carbon-copy... A lab expieriment gone wrong...... Looks bleak... Sunday... New School meets Old School... The Doctor of Thuganomics meets the Pittsburgth Showstealer... John Cena versus Shane Douglas... I will stretch you far beyond your normal limits... I will school you only as I can... And believe me when I say... When the time is right your ass will be FRANCHISED!" [Scene] The cameras begin to back off and fade. Soon we fade to a golden screen with black lettering that reads "Paid For By Perfection." What does this mean? |
