FLASHBACK ~Scene~ [Ambulance Sirens can be heard running through down town Chicago. Police Officers and EMTs surround a small house. Suddenly, three paramedics burst through the door, wheeling out a stretcher, on it, lay a man, early twenties, blood quickly filling the sheets. The man lets out a loud agonizing moan as the push him up into the ambulance.] Policemen: What the hell happened here?! EMT: This kid here, we haven't been able to identify him, but he's in really bad condition right now. Looks like he's been shot, found the gun laying next to him. Policeman: Hey Barney, talk to the neighbors, get me some information on this kid, find out his name, relatives. (turns to the EMT) You think he's gonna make it? EMT: Hard to say, the severity of the wound is pretty bad, appears to be a few inches from the brain. Our crew is doing all they can do, at this point, it could go either way. We can't risk trying to take the bullet out yet. ~The sound of a flatline can be heard ringing through the night time air. Inside the ambulance, two EMTs are working frantically to stabalize the man. They shock him with the panels, but to no avail. They emerge from the ambulance. They begin to walk up to the other two people when another officers comes running out of the door. Policeman: Chief, Chief! I found something that i think you definatley need to take a look at. Chief: This looks like a suicide note. [Letter:] Dear Brother, If you're reading this, you know that I am dead. The pain and sorrow of our parents brutal murders I could bare no more. I am off to a better place, much better than this hell hole Earth. A place where i can be united with our parents once again. The police have made no attempts to solve our parent's deaths. I had given up hope in them weeks ago. I know you think this was stupid of me, but this is the only way I can truly be happy, for to live would be much worse than death. In the afterlife, i will lead a happy life, with mother and father, where no pain is given and happiness is a way of life. Where there are no wrongs to be righted, where everyone is treated equal. Where everything is pure. Please don't hate me for this, I know this is something you won't understand now, and probably will never understand. I love you brother, and I shall watch over you from the great Heavens above. ~The chief looks at the ground. The officer he sent to find out about the kid returns. Officer: Chief, I got some info on this kid. His name is Chris Sutton. Real interesting story, bout four years back, he had to watch as his mother and father got hacked up by some fucking lunatic. Guy just walked out like nothing happened and didn't touch the kid, weird huh? Anyway, the only relatives he has left is a brother who lives about 6 hours from here in Decatur, I believe his name is Josh... Think we should give him a call? ~[Scene] Ring....Ring....Ring.... The phone can be the only thing heard through the darkness. Ring...Ring... Sounds of the phone getting picked up. Sutton: Hello? DO YOU REALIZE WHAT TIME IT IS! IT'S 3 o'clock in the fucking morning. This better be good! Officer: Josh Sutton? Sutton: Yeah, who wants to know? Officer: My name is Detective Stevens, and I'm down at the Chicago Police Department, there's been an accident involving your brother, Chris... You see... Sutton: CHRIS! WHAT THE FUCK DID HE DO THIS TIME?! Officer: Well, earlier tonight, Mr. Sutton, your brother shot himself, he left a note and it has been confirmed as a suicide. ~A desklamp switches on. Sutton stands there, a small tear streaming down his face. Officer: Mr. Sutton, are you still there? Mr. Sutton? ~Sutton rips the phone out of the wall and throws it across the room, smashing it to pieces on the wall. He throws himself onto the floor and bursts into tears. ~Flashback~ The scene opens at the cemetary. A priest and maybe ten people stand around the coffin of young Chris Sutton. A black limo pulls up and the driver gets out to open the door, but before he can, the door bursts open and out steps the brother, Josh. He walks, head down, up to the priest and shoves him out of the way. With that, Sutton shuts the lid on the coffin and pushes it down into the deep hole. The people on hand gasp, Sutton turns around with a single tear running down his cheek. He walks down off the podium and pulls the priest up. Sutton then sits down next to the grave and listens to his sermon. Priest: Today, we lay to rest Chris Sutton, a fine and kind hearted man who has lived in this town his entire life. Tis a day that we must mourn over, would the immediate family like to say any last words? ~Sutton stands up and walks over to the grave, he reaches in his coat and pulls out a black rose. Josh looks at it blankly and tosses it bitterly down beneath. Sutton walks off as the scene fades to black ~The scene opens to present day, in a local cemetary in Chicago, Illinois. A steel blue limo pulls up just outside. The driver steps out and opens the door. Josh Sutton emerges from the back, sporting his Nike sponsored pullaway pants, a mVw shirt, and a dozen black roses in his hand. He walks apon the sidewalk towards the gate. As he opens it, it lets out a loud creak. Sutton ignores and continues walking until he arrives at his brother's tombstone. Sutton falls to his knees on the hard covered dirt ground. He puts the roses under the tomb and smiles wryly, trying to hold back the tears. Sutton: Well brother, you always said you would look over me. And you have, for the past 6 years, you have watched my back, you have helped me overcome major obstacles. I sometimes to wish that I could be with mother, father, and you. But there are many things that I have left unfulfilled. I come to you today, for guidance. I am not the same man that I used to be. I see men, who used to be rookies, who grew up watching me, now becoming better than me. I become older as everyday goes by. This could be my last chance. Guide me brother, lead me to the mVw World title. I know this is what you want me to do. I will leave you now. Tell mother and father that I love them. ~FADE TO BLACK |
