Prevails" and our debut full length"For Salvation..." Noctuary is from the
US.

1.Who are the band members:
Joseph Van Fossen-guitars/vocals and Edward Knecht-bass/guitars
2.How did you got your name and what does it means:
Noctuary comes from a horror short story book by Tomas Lighotti. It's our place to gather
our thoughts, a place to write music and bring out our emotions.
3.What music stile do you play and compare it to some
similar bands:
We play extreme black metal, sometimes chaotic and brutal, sometimes cold and grim,
sometimes melodic and triumphant. An extreme assault of extremity and metal inspired by
the masters of old metal! I can't really compare Noctuary to other bands...but we do take
influence from Iron Maiden, Ozzy, old Metallica/Megadeth, Venom, Slayer, Rotting Christ,
Abigor, and more...
4.Some of your favorite groups:
The ones I have already mentioned and Ved Buens Ende.
5.Your opinion about underground and commercial music
scene:
The underground is where real music is written, straight from within and not for the sake
of money(for the most part). The commercial music scene is run by corporations and is not
written for anything except the sake of making money... commercial music is not timeless.
6.What was the biggest success of your band:
We haven't really had big success, but I guess the Milwaukee Metalfest XIII was pretty
big. It was a killer show, and we send our darkest hails to all of those who were in
attendance!
7.How many concerts did you played and by your opinion
what was the best:
Not sure, not very many. Probably around 6-8 so far. The best was probably metalfest, we
had a lot of energy on stage and good crowd response.
8.The favorite song you made and why:
Probably "A Tears Descent From Heaven," a new song that is to appear on our next
album. I like how a lot of the new songs turned out, more of the old metal feeling and
completed with blasphemy and darkness!
9.Where you on some local radio show (or something like
that):
I was, personally, but Noctuary wasn't. I performed bass for another band on the air and I
did an on air interview on behalf of Noctuary.
10.Do you think that underground music need more attention
of media and what is your opinion about big music televisions and radio stations(such as
MTV,Viva.....):
If underground music got more attention from the media it wouldn't be underground anymore.
Mainstream radio and television has destroyed music.Weak minded youth are, virtually,
controlled by the mainstream media.
11.Do you have support of local metal fans:
Yes, we've received a tremendous amount of support from our local scene and the US scene
in general. Fucking Hails to the US hordes!!
12.Plans for the future:
Recording "Die Hard" for a Venom tribute in December. Hopefully get in the
studio to record our follow up to "For Salvation..." in January. More shows,
possibly tours...
13.Say something for the end:
Hails to you for your interview and support... and hails to all who took the time to read
the interview... together we shall keep the metal scene alive and strong!
