1) WHO ARE THE BAND MEMBERS ( + INFO):Pyaemia is Joel Sea on vocals/guitars, Anton ade Bit on guitars, Frank Stynen on bass and Robbert Vrienhoek on drums. We're from Holand , we know each other from high school except for Joel, who I know from elementary school. We started the band out of some kind of joke, to do a Death Metal performance at our school in front of 400 students and parents. After the 1 st song some 20 people were left, the rest the rest had gone away,so that was so pretty cool show, we kicked a lot of ass! So we got the taste of it, decided to go on and got more
fanatic every day. 1 year after that Joel joined NOCTURNAL SILENCE too, first as a 2nd singer, latter as a guitar player.Half year more after that I also joined NOCTURNAL SILENCE after their drummer left the band.In the spring of '98 Pyaemia recorded a MCD "Cranial Blowout" and we sent it to a couple of record-labels.After a contract offer by Dutch Displeased didn't turn out to be a success we were just discussing a deal with ex-SINISTER frontman Mike van Mastrigt when REPULSE SPAIN showed interest. We will record our first full-length for them in April 2000,it will contain a re-recording of the 5 songs on "Cranial Blowout" + 4 or 5 new ones.

2) HOW DID YOU GET YOUR NAME AND WHAT DOES IT MEAN ?
We got our name searching through the dictionary for some gory words. We thought "festering disease of the blood" was pretty cool, that's what pyaemia means.

3)WHAT MUSIC STYLE DO YOU PLAY AND COMPARE IT TO SIMILAR BANDS ?
We play ultra brutal Death Metal. I guess you could compare it to a mixture of SUFFOCATION and old CANNIBAL
CORPSE. We just try to as extreme as we can without getting chaotic. Also we strive to get a production in the
vein of Scott Burns - productions.They're very heavy, but you can still hear every instrument very distinctly

4) SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE GROUPS:
The alltime favorite group of all of as is definitely SUFFOCATION. HATE ENTERNAL is also fucking brutal and others are old CANNIBAL CORPSE and PYREXIA,DYING FETUS,MORBID ANGEL,VADER, old and new MALEVOLENT CREATION,CRYPTOPSY and NILE, just to name a few famous ones.Here in Holland a couple of our favorite Dutch underground bands are SEVERE TORTURE,IHUME and CENTURIANcheck them out!

5) YOUR OPINION ABOUT UNDERGROUND AND COMMERCIAL MUSIC SCENE ?
I love underground as long as it's just a shame it's very hard, at least for me, to get your hands on some really good underground bands. I don't think the brutal music we like really can be all than commercial.When such a band really becomes commercial (here in Holland I think that's what happened to GOREFEST)the music becomes crappy and most of the time I don't like it anymore.

6)WHAT WAS THE BIGGEST SUCCESS OF YOUR BAND ?
Well, our first show, that I described in your first question,was a pretty big success, but I think the biggest success is obvious: singing with REPULSE. We got a relay good contract, can keep playing the music that we like and reach a lot of people with our music, or as we prefer to say it: kick as much as as possible, which was and still is our ultimate goal.

7) HOW MANY CONCERTS DID YOU PLAY AND BY YOUR OPINION WHAT WAS THE BEST
We haven't done very much concerts, maybe 20 to 30 in total. Lately it's getting better, now we have a showalmost every month with both my bands. Last weekend we did a show with NOCTURNAL SILENCE and PYAEMIA together and we were very happy about it, it went really well. Maybe that was the show,it helped that we had a perfect sound, it was heavy, but still very clear, it blasted!

8)THE FAVORITE SONG YOU MADE AND WHY ?That's a tough one. I'm very pleased about all of the PYAEMIA songs, because we keep adjusting themuntill they sound perfect to us, we won't settle for less. A couple of my favorites are Sugar Spiced Anus,because it is a catchy short song, Impaled on Stakes (a new one) because it just sounds fucking sick(if you hear it, you'll know what I mean), and the latest one,which doesn't have a title yet, that's probably the heaviest song we got right now, it's really in the SUFFOCATION spirit.

9)WHERE YOU ON SOME LOCAL RADIO SHOW OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT ?
Not live yet, but a local radio show here played a song of us and songs of us have been played on radio show in France,Canada,America and Columbia.

10)DO YOU THINK THAT UNDERGROUND MUSIC NEED MORE ATTENTION OF MEDIA AND WHAT IS YOUR OPINION ABOUT BIG MUSIC TELEVISIONS AND RADIO STATIONS (SUCH AS MTV,VIVA...)
Like I said before,it's pretty hard for me to get to know new good underground bands,so the metal magazines here in Holland , in my opinion,should give it more attention. The attention they have for Death Metal in general is also not enough I think. I don't listen to radio or watch MTV much, they just don't play music I like especially MTV sucks big time.Here in Holland we also got a music television station called TMF.They sometimes play video's of MORBID ANGEL,CANNIBAL CORPSE or bands like that so I do watch that sometimes.

11)DO YOU HAVE SUPPORT OF LOCAL METAL FANS ?
Yeah, all the brutal death metal fans over here really like our music. Also the guys in other Dutch brutal bands are really cool to us, especially SEVERE TORTURE. We frequently try to menage shows for and with eachother so we can play with bands that like the same musical style as we do, those are the coolest shows.

12)PLANS FOR THE FUTURE ?
I already mentioned the CD we're gonna record in April.Also we have some shirts being made with our logo in white on it. We also got an offer to play a show in Bolivia. I don't know if that's going to work out soon,we'll see.
